We made it to the airport taco hat and all! The taco hat did make it through security. He was very worried it wouldn’t! The airport is always chaos for me. I took my crochet project and finished a bunch! His plane took off and he landed safe!

In other news! A car caught fire on the same level of the parking garage I was parked on. I had to walk through the smoke and figure out how to get out. I might have panicked, my husband was sleeping at home, so I called my Dad. I had to go up a floor because the car was next to the exit, then drive down to get out! I’m safe and sound and home now!

Unloaded the gas kiln yesterday evening and got to see my finished work. This little silly ditty of #styrofoam #tacohat @tacosombrero.official cups is ready for some sweat tea while eating a macho taco chicken salad. 🤤 In all seriousness the firing went well, the glazes did what they were suppose to do, and the #corrosiveware looks corrosive. I am a little disappointed in the specks that have come through the underglaze. This means there must have been a change in mesh size, change in material or a contamination in a material. It doesn’t affect the clay, just gives it specks. This came as a bit of a shock, because this clay has never been speckled like this before. However with each batch of clay there will be a chance for things to not be exact since ceramics is a secondary market for the materials. Now that I know I can make decisions about what to do going forward.
