Places to visit in NYC during the summer I've been living in New York all of my life and sometimes it can get a little boring. BUT when it's summer time, it's the best place to be in. In this post I picked out a few ideal places you should check out. 1) Tacoway beach 302 Beach 87th St Rockaway Beach, NY 11693 United States If you're heading out to Rockaway beach (the best beach in the city) you have to check out this cute restaurant called Tacoway beach. It's super cheap and the tacos taste amazing!! They serve drinks (alcohol and non alcohol) , fresh tacos and other fruit. It's a must see! 2) Fort Tilden Beach 326 Rockaway Point Blvd Breezy Point, NY 11697 United States If you want to go to the beach (but without the crazy, screaming kids) you need to check out Fort Tilden. Fort Tilden is clean and peaceful. Also, there are no lifeguards. One con is that, there's not a lot of places to get food. There's only one food truck, but they have the best milkshakes and gyros. Also, the best way to get there is by bike because there's no parking and there's no buses (you need to do extra research.) It's a great place to visit at least once in your life. 3)John Jay Pool 76-01 F D R Drive New York, NY 10021 United States The BEST outdoor pool in NYC. There's two diving boards and one huge pool. The best way to get there is taking the 6 train to 77 street and then walking across 77 street to York avenue. There you'll find the entrance to John Jay Park and the pool will be right there! I recommend that you get there early because it can get crowded. 4) Coney Island 1208 Surf Ave Brooklyn, NY 11224 United States If you like the beach and the amusement park, Coney Island is the best place to be at. There are fireworks every Friday at sunset. There's good food! Funnel cakes and cotton candy, everything you can think of! There's Luna park for your kids (adults can go on some of these rides too.) If you're 15 and older, you need to ride the Cyclone. Its the oldest roller coaster there (it's safe I promise...I think.) The beach at Coney Island isn't my favorite. It's one of the dirtiest beaches in the city. There's a lot of trash around it. In my opinion, you should only go to Coney Island for the rides.
