Some thoughts abt the latest ep-

Haven’t seen anyone talk abt this little shot w/ kinger yettt- for those of you who may not recognize what these are, they are character rigs. From this ss it looks like just the base joints(no IK handles or IK splines visible) of what would then be weighted and attached to controllers for the animators to move the characters with. I thought it was so clever how he was so fascinated with them, rigging can be a very technical and tedious process so it was a nice little thing that I was excited to see in the latest ep hehe. Playing into the theory that Kinger helped developed the game it’s just a cute little nod that he would be the one to recognize what these are in the first place.

I’ve seen a couple people point out how Jax didn’t really even have the energy to put on his “funny one” mask throughout the majority of the episode (aside from his sloppy attempt to mask around Caineduring their dinner, only to disassociate halfway through it haha) but I think a great parallel was how happy gangle was even just in her sad mask. Like multiple moments she is just seemed more at peace , relaxed, and happy esp in the first half of the ep.

Another great progression of characters was Pomni and Ragatha’s relationship, it seems much more mature and genuine now, (thank u kinger) and Pomni in particular has seemed to take on a lot more leadership and bravery to stand up for herself specially within the last two episodes. I was just so happy to see my girls getting along so well I love them.

Also glad to see that Pomni takes in everyone’s opinion when she is thinking though things, it shows a level a maturity I think some of other circus members struggle with and is why there can be so much beefing between certain characters. I adore her looking out for and reassuring Jax when she notices him stressed but also takes care of including and watching out for kinger esp when she notices Abel continuously trying to keep him on the outside of the whole plan.

TIME TO TALK ABT JAXS ROOM. I have seen so many theories on this already and I lowkey my opinion is people are taking it too far(hence the whole joke of this latest ep trying to poke fun at how crazy some fan theories are.) Here’s my take on it- ignoring the obvious color choices present, it’s not hard to spot that the room itself is childish. I personally think this is genuinely just a reflection of jax’s character and how his coping mechanisms themselves are extremely childish.

In short, the extreme use of violence, (zoobles whole spiel after throwing water on jax) his deflectioning, the apathy he pretends to carry abt his actions, and the very strick confines he boxes the other circus members in-all childish ways of trying to avoid the confrontation of his own personal mental issues. Not only that but the room is full of reminders of things he had lost (the pictures and the table) and I think one struggle many people have is parting with childish ways. No I don’t think he was a drunk driver and committed vehicle manslaughter, from the short glimpse we got the driving was steady. He drank in ep 5 and if he was guilty abt drunk driving still don’t think one would choose to indulge back in that trauma lmao. His character isn’t necessary driven by guilt from what we can see- and if it is, it has been linked to the idea of abstraction of his past friends which was kind of just thrown to be (partially) caines doing so we can throw that idea out for now. And no I don’t think it’s bc of a little sister or like daughter or anything he was much too stressed abt the idea of getting out of the circus rather than staying in it lol.. I have other thoughts abt the whole room sitch but that was the majority of my main thought process….sooo

I don't wanna jump the gun just yet and call this foreshadowing, this was clearly played off for the lolz, but I have a nagging feeling this is implying something much, much darker

It's clear that Jax said the part about the egg white* involuntarily, since he doesn't want to play this vegan bit whatsoever. But his sentence at the end; "I thought Caine couldn't..."

"... control us"??

Imagine that. They're trapped against their will, they can never go home, they're forced into stressful and scary adventures every day, but at the very least they still have free will. At least they can choose what they say and do (puppeteer employee re-evaluations aside)

Only, they can't. That can be taken away from them as well.

And Zooble knew it.

Remember this brief convo in the previous episode;

"The only thing holding Caine back is the fact that he likes us. I wouldn't push it."

ZOOBLE KNOWS SOMETHING.

Most likely they may just be wiser and/or more perceptive than most, fully comprehending the scope of Caine's powers in the circus and knowing that they're all hanging on by the threads that Caine is clutching. Or, possibly, they may have been witness to this "punishment" they mention. This may be the real reason they never go on adventures. Not cuz they just can't be fucked (tho probably true) but because they figure "If I don't do anything, I can't do anything wrong/worth punishing"

They know what Caine is capable of, and how it can be weaponized. In that sense, they were actually very forgiving to only ask for Jax to be vegan for the day as punishment for pretending to eat Gangle. I think between episode 4 & 5 we're seeing Jax come to that realization as well. It's clear that in his own way, he trusted Caine wouldn't hurt him or force him to do anything against his will, and was proven wrong twice.

Like I said, this might be foreshadowing for something later on, it might just be subtext you're meant to stew over as I have. Either way, its clear that Caine has greater capacity for evil, or at least immense harm, than most of them realize.

*also, since when do whiskey sours have egg whites?? I looked it up thinking it was a joke, but no, this is a cocktail with egg in it, wtf. Tho technically, according to google if it has an egg white it's a Boston sour, but same diff

okay so you know how jax has super aiming abilities because he believes the circus runs on cartoon logic?

but we all know when he hit gangle's mask with the baseball, it was a complete accident

and when they're playing the baseball game against their evil counterparts, jax also hits the ball but it goes into the foul zone

putting all this together, jax has a canon, consistent level of baseball skill: extremely mid
