The Stitching

The circus was quiet.

That almost never happened.

After the latest “adventure” designed by Caine, the bright tent lights dimmed into a soft golden glow. The others had scattered to different corners of the digital circus—some resting, some arguing, some trying not to think too much.

Near a wooden crate sat Pomni.

Her colorful jester costume was scratched and torn from the chaos earlier. Thin digital seams flickered where sharp edges from the adventure had scraped her outfit.

She pulled at one of the threads with frustration.

“Great… just great,” Pomni muttered. “First I get chased by nightmare geometry, now my costume’s falling apart.”

Soft footsteps approached behind her.

A warm, plush voice spoke.

“May I help you?”

Pomni turned and saw (Y/N).

The soft bear toy stood there, holding a tiny sewing kit they had somehow pieced together from bits of circus fabric and thread.

Pomni hesitated.

“I mean… if you want,” she said.

(Y/N) sat beside her carefully, their plush paws gentle as they began stitching the torn fabric back together.

For a while, neither of them spoke.

The quiet was… comfortable.

Pomni watched the slow, careful way they worked.

Each stitch was perfect.

Each movement patient.

It was strange.

No one in the circus ever seemed this calm.

After a moment, (Y/N) gently brushed a bit of dust from Pomni’s sleeve.

“There we go,” they murmured softly. “You shouldn’t pull at loose threads. It could make the tear worse.”

Pomni immediately stiffened.

“…Okay, hold on.”

(Y/N) blinked.

Pomni crossed her arms.

“Don’t—do that.”

“Do what?” (Y/N) asked gently.

“That… tone.”

“My tone?”

Pomni rubbed the back of her neck awkwardly.

“I mean… thanks for fixing it. Really. But you don’t have to talk to me like I’m five.”

(Y/N)’s button eyes softened with concern.

“I wasn’t trying to.”

Pomni sighed.

“I know. I just—”

She looked down.

“I already feel like I have zero control here. Being treated like a kid doesn’t help.”

(Y/N) quietly continued sewing

“…I understand,” they said softly.

Pomni raised an eyebrow.

“You do?”

(Y/N) paused.

“…Maybe.”

The needle stopped moving.

Pomni noticed their paw trembling slightly.

“Something wrong?” she asked.

(Y/N) stared down at the thread

“Pomni… may I tell you something strange?"

Pomni shrugged.

“Strange is basically the circus default, so sure.”

(Y/N) took a slow breath.

“When you said I sounded like I was treating you like a child…”

They pressed a paw gently against their head.

“…it felt familiar.”

Pomni tilted her head.

“What do you mean?”

(Y/N)’s voice became quieter.

“I think… I used to be a mother.”

The words hung in the air.

Pomni blinked.

“…Wait. Seriously?”

(Y/N) nodded slowly.

“There’s a memory. Somewhere.”

Small fragments flickered behind their eyes.

A warm room.

Soft laughter.

Tiny footsteps running across a floor.

“…I had a child,” they whispered.

Pomni leaned forward slightly.

“That’s huge. Do you remember their name?”

(Y/N)’s paws trembled.

“I think I can…”

Their voice shook.

“My child’s name was—”

Confetti exploded beside them

“HELLO MY MAGNIFICENT DIGITAL DARLINGS!”

Pomni jumped nearly a foot in the air.

“Oh COME ON!”

Floating beside them, grinning as always, was Caine.

He spun dramatically in midair

“Guess what time it is!”

Pomni groaned loudly.

“Let me guess. Emotional interruption time?”

Caine ignored her.

“ADVENTURE TIME!”

(Y/N) blinked in confusion.

“What were we talking about?”

Pomni stared at them.

“You were remembering your kid.”

(Y/N)’s eyes widened.

“…Kid?”

They tried to hold onto the thought.

Something warm.

Someone small.

“My child’s name was—”

Caine appeared again, suddenly right between them.

“OH BOY THIS ONE IS A GOOD ONE!”

Pomni clenched her fists.

“CAINE.”

But he continued happily.

“You two have been personally selected for today’s interactive nightmare obstacle extravaganza!”

Pomni turned slowly toward him.

“You do this on purpose, don’t you?”

Caine tilted his head with a giant grin.

“Do what?”

Behind her, (Y/N) looked lost again.

The memory had faded.

Pomni’s anger softened into sadness.

She turned back to them.

“You really don’t remember anymore…”

(Y/N) shook their head slowly.

“…No."

Pomni sighed.

Then suddenly she hugged them.

The plush bear froze in surprise.

“Okay listen,” Pomni said quietly.

“I still don’t like being treated like a kid.”

(Y/N) gave a small nod.

“But…”

She squeezed them a little tighter.

“…if you used to be a mom, that’s fine.”

(Y/N)’s arms slowly wrapped around her in return.

Pomni rested her head against their soft fabric.

“Just don’t forget I’m not your kid, okay?”

(Y/N) whispered gently.

“…Of course.”

For a brief moment, they felt that strange warmth again.

A memory.

A child laughing

Calling them—

But before the name could form…

Caine clapped loudly.

“ALRIGHT YOU TWO! INTO THE PORTAL!”

The circus floor opened beneath them.

As they fell into the next chaotic adventure, Pomni looked back at the plush bear beside her.

“Hey.”

(Y/N) turned.

“…Yes?”

Pomni gave a small, determined smile.

“One day we’re getting that memory back.”

For the first time since arriving in the circus…

(Y/N) smiled too.

Some info on my AU

The pic just shows the general height but again, The performer's sizes depends on the devices they come out of.

WIP, (Cuz my apple pen died on me)

The doodle on the top left is supposed to show Gangle coming out of an apple watch and due how small the device is, they came out small too, this is also one of the ways they go with the Reader other than their phone

Ever since they had came been freed from the digital world, they live with the reader and often offer to come with them when they go out (Not like they have a choice to begin with as they would be teleported to them once they are far enough)

Reader started wearing hoodies as a way to carry the small performers anywhere without being seen, Gangle often wraps around their neck like a necklace to have a better view

Jax is held around to prevent him from running off and causing chaos

They rarely allow the performers to go out with them in a same or bigger height as them to prevent detection but will allow if they are going somewhere relatively few of people like some forests

Reader Trusts Ragatha the most and Jax the extremely least

The performers love to eat, even if they do not need to it has been so long since they have tasted real food that tasting a cup of noodles felt like heaven to them, (Tho the reader can cook and sometimes cooks for them)

The Reader has a small scar on their body after a little incident from Jax (It causes their relations to sour quite a lot and it took a while for the reader to forgive him, let's just say Jax isn't allow to hold knives anymore)

Reader listens to Gangle's ramblings on ships and anime, they also allow them to watch animes on their phone

The reader and Zooble sometimes team up to prank Jax, one time they carefully sticked the Tv on the ceiling and placed the reader's monitor under the tv facing it, and they proceed to watch Jax fall through the portals for an hour

Kinger sometimes stays in their backyard to look for bugs

Reader thought they needed therapy after their first encounter with them, But NOW thinks the whole damn group needs therapy.

Caine is Basically retired to be the reader's digital helper on their pc, kinda like that clip one.

Pomni held the anon in her hand as it asks it question "Well depends on who you ask at the moment" She mutters as she looks around the room, Jax and Zooble are still in the middle of their argument, Ragatha and Kinger are still looking over the pile of anons already building up, with Kinger picking one and walking towards the reader who is still on their bed, Gangle is still rambling with that anon that asked her about her favorite anime.

When the gang finally finds a exit, they didn't return back to their old lives no, merely they stayed in their digital bodies despite being out in the real world, with no other choice, they live with the reader (Aka you), the one who freed them to finally experience a normalish life after years inside the circus, with the reader being kind enough to lend some of them their old clothes.

Height comparison

Alongside still being able to enter the digital plane whenever they please, they can enter any electronic devices such an apple watch or phone and use them as portals, Their sizes changes depending on the size of the device they come out from.

Life certainly is quite weird in giving you these fellas but hey, now you got a second family now living in your home!

I wonder how the gang would react to a pet of the reader (you can pick what type), I would imagine it would be funny especially if the pet doesn’t like jax from first glance.

It really depends on the type of pet.

If its a dog, then Gangle and Zooble would try to avoid it especially if they are small because they would not trust the animal enough to not play with their body parts, Jax would honestly try his luck on teaching it how to tackle anyone on command but if it's a big dog he'll try to avoid it, Kinger would just go "Doggy~" and just pet it, Pomni would be nervous but I think she'll like it especially if its the more quiet and calm breeds, Ragatha would try and pet it but being made out plush she'll try to not have the animal think she's a dog toy *Last thing she wants is to be tossed around*

If its a cat, Oh Pomni would like them and she especially loves it when it purrs on her lap, which causing Jax to tease that she is with her kind, Jax would also try to encourage the cat to play with Gangle's ribbons or just straight up toss the cat to her, *He was sentenced to the gay baby jail for that*, Zooble would not care at first but may like the cat if it has some sass *Like her fr* and Ragatha would also love the cat as it purrs on her lap, especially thinking how it is so similar to Pomni while Kinger probably scares himself and the cat each time they bump into one another as the cat just always seem to appear out of no where to him.

now the funniest thing if the pet was a rabbit, because all of the gang except from Jax would immediently have it named The better Jax and they would actually love that fluffball. Funny thing is Rabbits are territorial and so I just have this funny image of Jax arguing to the rabbit like an actual person while the rabbit just thumps the ground in response and so Jax would stomp his feet too and now they are just having a thumping battle to see which of them last long *Reader had to pull them away before they actually begin to have territorial fights*

It would widely depend if the pet was an exotic one, if its an insect one you can count Ragatha out unless you encourage her to try and lessen her fears with them with small encounters, just make sure Jax doesn't let them out of their enclosure please. If its a reptile Zooble would not be in the mood especially after the encounter with gloink queen but they might find some like snakes and small lizards cool. And if its a bird, I can always imagine Gangle wanting to try those scenes were a birds pick someone up and fly with them but you had to remind her to your bird cannot carry her.
