A/N: Gonna be so real rn, I was fully expecting and completely fine with, only two people liking that post. Me and the person who requested it. I never expected nor experienced so many comments and lovely compliments. Thank you so much for taking the time to comment. Here's a sweet treat.
"You need your rest." You roll your eyes at the comment, not caring who said it, as Kinger and Queenie both hold your hand, leading you towards the pillow fort. You tried to put it off as long as you could by suggesting walks around the circus. Claiming you forgot something in your room, than calming it’s in Kinger’s and by the time you search Queenie’s, you've already ‘forgotten’ what it was. Hoping that with movement, you could keep a distance from the obsessive pair.
Yet everything always comes back to the pillow fort, as the pair put a stop to your antics. Guiding you to fulfill their bedtime routine. Hands helping lower you to the ground, placing you in your spot between them, treating you with reverent delicate touches. You squeeze your eyes shut at the feeling of Kinger pressing against your back, hips squeezing your hips. Queenie, who lies at your front, glides her hand over your cheek, tilting your face for the couple's favorite part of their night. Leaning forward to press a kiss onto your, through delusional eyes, eager expression. You beg with everything that she'll stop, that'll she decide to press no more than a single kiss.
"Are my sweet slimy snails hiding here?!"
Your prayer's answer in the form of a nosy, lonely AI. While the chess piece hesitate, wondering how to politely ask Caine to go away so they can continue their ritual. You grab onto the chance with a tight fist, inviting Caine in under a concept you haven’t thought about since childhood.
For a sleepover.
In your excitement and hope, you crawl over Kinger to get closer to Caine. Pinning the older man in an awkward position, unable to get a good grip to stop you from wiggling away. In his excitement of bonding, Caine zooms in, unintentionally pushing Queenie away from you to avoid getting hit.
In a whirlpool of moments and exclamations, the fort settles into a stillness. With you harshly pressing your back into the wall, as if trying to claim as much distance away or to merge yourself into the object. While Queenie and Kinger, sitting by the opposite wall, their bodies shifting, muscles tense and coil as if they’re seconds away from standing up and lunging towards you.
But Caine lies in the middle. To make such a movement will no doubt grab his attention; aim it towards you. Their pure, sweet partner. Their partner to protect. Their partner they swore to keep away from Caine’s torment. The ringleader's outfit changes into bee print pjs as he lies on his stomach in the middle of the fort. His cane gone and his top hat replaced with a matching bee print sleeping cap with the tail of it swaying with his movements, yapping away, forcing the older couple to reluctantly settle down.
"What do you do on sleepovers?" Caine asks, breaking the silence.
"Play games," Kinger answered, his eyes locked onto you. The look of panic in his piercing blue makes your skin crawl.
"Games!? Well, I know a thing or two about that. Now, what would my wrinkly brain compadres want to play?" Caine vibrates with excitement. Listing out different ideas, and you can feel your concentration slip. The voices are becoming dull and far away. As if you're listening from underwater. Drifting deeper and deeper towards the bottom, your limbs growing numb due to the cool temperature of the ocean.
"Not like your adventures, Caine. More like-" Kinger tries to explain, but is unable to find the right word due to being distracted by the space between you and him. It felt wrong. The longer you're away, the harder to focus on anything else but you.
"Questions. To get to know others. Sleepovers are talking mostly." Queenie easily adds in. Setting the parameters of the evening.
Caine lets out another loud gasp, "You want to get to know me?!" It seems the event is his biggest dream coming true as he excitedly talks to Kinger and Queenie, learning as much as he can about sleepovers. Answering every, and asking every question he can to engage with the humans in his care.
You can't hear any of it. Suddenly lost as a soft lullaby of sorts replaced their voices, drowning out the pet names you didn’t earn with real affection. Your muscles relax, no longer needing to keep your guard up and be wary of prickly claws that’ll dig into you. Your body feels light, a type of serenity you haven't experience since the circus. The kind of wonder when acknowledging how small you are in comparison to the world, that nature moves forward regardless of your impact. A form of clarity Existentialism brings, yet without the pressure to seek out your purpose. It’s only you and the peace before falling asleep.
The sound of your name and a gentle touch on your ankle cause you to jump, heart beating fast as if shocked out of your thoughts by the sound of a loud air horn going off. You blink rapidly as you focus on your surroundings. Finding Caine in front of you, as Kinger and Queenie watchful eyes are pinned on you. You can't tell how much you miss or how much time you let slip. Only that it appears to be your turn to be under Caine's watchful mismatched eyes.
"What do you think of my adventures?" Caine repeats himself. He's sitting on his knees and shuffles closer to you; you tense at the action. Expecting him to reach out and touch you, but he keeps a distance. Keeps his hands to himself as he only gets closer to being in the center of your view.
" I… I like them." You dumbly answer.
"Really?" Caine seems doubtful. You spare a glance towards Kinger and Queenie over his shoulder. You can only see Kinger with how close Caine is, but it's enough to spot his floating eyebrows furrow, his eyes squint in distress as he exchanges words with Queenie. As if he had spent time burning the weight of your gaze into memory, Kinger's eyes snap towards you not a second after you cautiously watch him. His eyes wide, and he begins to wave, signalling you to come to him.
You immediately shift your eyes to Caine, hoping to brush the exchange off, "Yeah."
"That's a relief," Caine visibly deflates, melting into the floor of the fort. Rolling onto his back as he stares up at you. His teeth is tilt back to allow you to see his eyes, it's a rather odd angle, and somehow the sleeping cap stays on, "you used to be so cheerful about my adventures that I knew you liked them. But lately you've been acting weird, it's honestly hard to tell!" Caine explains.
You don't know how your face remains the same, not a single twitch of your eye or lip to show what you're feeling as your heart drops at the admission. You didn't think Caine was that very aware of human relationships or emotions. Only caring for his performance review since he easily accepted the couple's change with his comments about you being a trio as he sends you off.
Can he actually see how the couple latching onto you is toxic? Is he actually checking in on you? Is it so clear that your breaks are broken and you're accelerating towards the great void of giving up? Is he giving you a way out? A part of you wants to explain, to spill every detail of what the couple is doing to your mental psyche.
But another, large part, the one that steps forward to help the couple, the martyr within keeps your mouth shut. Afraid of what kind of fallout that'll cause the couple fracture mind. Of what feelings you'll be stomping on. Only vaguely aware that if you go through with it, it'll be the cause of your isolation.
You held on this long, keeping them sane, you can hold you longer, is the logic that has you slowly shaking your head towards Caine.
"Just, tired," you fall back onto safety, enjoying the peace of being separated from the couple while you can, as you stare down at Caine. Ignoring Queenie trying to get your attention in your peripheral.
"Rest is important!" Caine answered, his voice sounding programmed. Loud tone but no emotion that it sound too perfect, enough to be unnerving. Reminding you that he's an AI at the end of the day. That him acting as your shield is temporary. "Is that a part of the sleepover?"
"Yep," you nod again.
Caine sits up, facing Kinger and Queenie, sleeping cap swaying with his movements. "Then let's get you humans some sleep,” he announces to the group and shifts in his spot. He turns in his spot to face you. At the sight of his hands inching closer, you tense up again. But the contact is brief as Caine grabs your shoulders to gently lay you on your side. A pillow is placed under your head to support you.
Caine lets go before you could notice any details about his touch. Letting you sink in, what has to be the most comfortable pillow you've experienced. You watch from your spot as he turns to Kinger and Queenie, who have gotten up. Taking this as their cue to approach you, but he stops them, moving them into what he believes are their spots: away from you. Even when Kinger tries to side step Caine, he gets lifted up in the air and brought down to the ground, just as gently as you would be laid to rest.
Your eyes widen in awe that, after so many days of dread, you didn't think you could feel any positive emotions. Watching Caine in admiration as he keeps handing you peace on a silver plate. Kinger and Queenie make a fuse, their voice raise in pleas and frustration as they try to reason with Caine that they sleep beside you. You don't pay attention to their words or hear them trying to convince you to come to them.
Your thoughts fixated on Caine, wondering if he is being ignorant of their pleas purposely, or not.
"Lovebug,-" Kinger tries again to wave you over. His hand outstretched towards you, a desperation in his tone as if you're his life live he needs to grab. Caine firm place his hand down.
"Now, now! This is time for sleep, not charades!" Caine lightly scolds him. Caine grabs Queenie, who is trying to inchworm towards you by her shoulders and gently drag her back to Kinger. Queenie lets out a curse towards the ringmaster.
"Enough of that, my dear! You need your rest for tomorrow's great adventure!" Caine warns, his voice light with an undertone that a parent would use to shut down any more misbehavior.
The couple once again reluctantly settle down, having to reassure themselves that as long as you’re in their sights, you're alright. Ready to spend the night staring longingly towards you. Caine returns to his spot in the middle of the fort and continues to separate the chess pieces from you.
Caine, strangely, sleeps in a starfish position, taking up all the space with his limbs stretched out, his arm and leg towards the chess pieces, which he accidentally hits them. Enough, they're forced to scoot away if they don't want to feel his presence, while the limbs at your side just miss your frame. It strategic. If the couple want to get up in the middle of the night to get to you, they more than likely will disturb Caine with how close he is to them. It seems they realise the position they're in as you hear their huffs and sighs in defeat.
It's perfect.
You close your eyes, basking in the feeling of nothing around you. Similar to the peace you felt earlier, but more grounded. Still aware of your limbs, able to enjoy the pressure of the pillows. Of feeling safe for the first time in a long time.
"Goodni-" Queenie softly broke the silence, no doubt addressing you.
"Shush!" Caine is quick to stop her.
It's quiet. No kisses or hugs or wandering hands.
Only you.
You hear a soft rustling and peek your eye open to see Caine's hand creep closer towards yours. You watch, strangely not feeling the urge to run away. To scoot back from it, as Caine seems too nervous to touch you and instead leaves a small gap between. You didn’t mind it. The gaps feel deceivingly large. Your judgment is skewed after time spent with the couple, that you find shelter in the space. You close your eyes and fall asleep. Unaware of another obsessive gaze burning on you.
divider by @/omi-resources⟡ I got new pain meds, Im officially your problem now, pookies, ahaha
EXTREMELY self indulgent. I want Queenie's THICK ASS suffocating me. Reader is gn.
~400 words
Cunnilings, mention of ass eating near the end. I don't know if this counts as dubcon? She's just scared to hurt you if that makes sense. Smut under the cut!
Your mouth waters at the sight of Queenie spreading her cunt open right above your face.
"Are... You sure about this, dear?"
She asks nervously, clearly hesitant to put her full weight on your face. She's confused as to why you want this so bad.
"Just sit on my face,' You say. 'Put your full weight down. Don't hold back on me."
Just remembering the words made her heat throb, which you have a clear view of.
"Queenie, if you don't sit, I will absolutely pull you down myself." You mutter impatiently. You can't believe she actually agreed to this, and you can't let this golden opportunity slip away from you.
She sighs softly before lowering herself down on you, her pussy pressing right against your face.
She twitches as your mouth latches onto her, moaning at the feel of your tounge swirling around just the right places.
"Ah, just... Just tap me three times if you need me to—" You interrupt her with a sharp smack to her fat ass.
Your hands quickly find themselves squishing and slapping her ass repeatedly, drawing wondrous mewls from her.
You can't stop suckling on her juicy cunt, grinding her into your mouth greedily. God, you could die right after you make her cum.
Every other goal you had in life was absolutely nothing compared to this goddess letting you drink her nectar directly from the source.
Your sneaky tongue works it's way into her heat, your fingers digging into the skin of her ass as you work your tongue in and out of her spasming pussy.
Queenie can't deny that she's quickly grown to love this, even if you're a little rough. "I'm not going to be able to last any longer..." She sighs, eyes rolling back as she nears her peak.
Your tongue slips out of her, and you choose to latch your mouth around her clit, sucking and swirling your tongue eagerly.
Queenie is trembling above you, her thighs tensing around your head. After only a few more moments, she's gushing into your mouth.
You squeeze her ass tighter, greedily lapping up your reward for working so hard. She pants heavily, kind of thankful she agreed to let you do this.
She moves to get off your face, which is hot and sticky with her juices. You feel perfectly content with your life in this moment. You're already thinking of how to convince her to let you eat her ass soon.

The Coven and Their Allies Realizing They're Must Be In Love With You (Young!Reader, just for the record!)
Cordelia Goode, Fiona Goode, Zoe Benson, Madison Montgomery, Misty Day, Nan, Queenie, Myrtle Snow, Mallory, Marie Laveau and Kyle Spencer!
Cordelia Goode
Ok, we know that Delia went through a lot before getting here and that her self-esteem is not the best…
Regardless if it's as Supreme or before that, Delia never felt enough for anyone to love her and definitely avoided falling in love.
Maybe after Hank, things got worse in that regard.
But there, in the middle of her path, there was you.
Cordelia tensed as she realized that she was liking you more than a friend.
She didn't want Fiona to know (if she was still alive), so she just kept it a secret.
Okay, maybe Myrtle would have been the first person to know that she was in love with someone again, but she was the exception.
And Cordelia had to process all that on her own for a long time before she got up the courage to talk to you.
It started with just an exchange of ideas, a casual conversation that happened out of the blue when she approached you somewhere you guys went together.
Cordelia even offered to buy you drinks from time to time, a way of signing that there was something more and a way to at least be helpful and content.
(Of course it wasn't out of the blue, Cordelia kind of calculated her steps (not in an obsessive way) so she could get to you without stuttering…)
Delia won you over little by little, and your conversations gave her the confidence to keep going ever since.
Until the day she thought she couldn't keep it all to herself anymore.
"I'll be honest, I don't think I've ever felt anything like this for anyone before, but the truth is, I'm in love with you, (Y\N)… And, you know, it's okay if you don't love me back."
Secretly, she wanted you to reciprocate.
And well, actually, you reciprocated because who wouldn't fall in love with Cordelia Goode, right?
Fiona Goode
Let's start with the fact that you destabilize Fiona's entire pose the moment she first lays eyes on you.
And has been doing so ever since.
Falling in love has never been a problem for Fiona, she has done it countless times, and every time her loves have yielded incredible things for her.
But with you, it's different, and feeling it knocked her out at first.
Like, she's the queen of self-centeredness, and all of a sudden, she starts caring more about someone else than herself…
Nobody, nobody at all, would know that Fiona Goode is in love.
Oh yeah, and then there's the age thing, which she found a little humiliating at first, especially when she realized it wasn't a spur-of-the-moment thing.
Of course, she had to make the first move.
And it would happen at a time when you're alone, at the bar, probably ordering a drink (similar to Cordelia's).
The difference is that Fiona wouldn't waste any time.
So, you can expect anything, anything, from her.
Endless flirting to make you blush.
And she always cracks that smile when she succeeds.
She will probably strike up a conversation, trying to find out what your tastes are, and use that to her advantage in an attempt to win you over.
Apart from the irresistible charm, which she uses even involuntarily.
Not to mention that once she got more intimate with you, she would brag about being the Supreme and most powerful witch ever.
"Would you ever consider dating someone older, (Y\N), like, casually?"
Zoe Benson
I believe Zoe (just like Luke) would be the most normal person to fall in love with, and handle it better than other girls.
Like, of course, she has the issue of her power and the like.
But I don't think she would consider that, especially after getting used to being a witch and having control of her powers.
Not that there wasn't that care and concern for her safety either, because the moment she realized everything, she wouldn't want to lose you.
I think she would also be like Cordelia and would need some more time to gain confidence in herself to confess her feelings for you.
Still, you can expect a few notes in the most unusual places you should find them, written by her.
Some were references to poems, others were song lyrics.
Zoe would use that feature to be able to declare herself to you without having to use her words.
A few subtle flirtations when you met casually, whether it was on purpose or not.
Zoe is incredibly distracted when she is in love with someone.
And that would yield great content for Madison, who would be the first to find out about her coven mate's new love.
In a pre-Apocalypse era, Cordelia would have been your confidant.
And if it happened after that, Zoe would find a way to handle it all on her own too.
Either way, Zoe wants you to be sure that being with her is completely safe, despite the troubled life she leads.
"I think I'm in love with you, (Y\N). I'm serious."
Madison Montgomery
(anon who asked me a while ago about madison falling in love and being a complete mess, this one's for you!)
I don't think I need to comment on how frustrated Madison would be to fall seriously in love.
She doesn't give in that easily to anyone, but with you it's strangely different.
You can expect a softer side of her to come out over the days.
Not that her bitch side didn't prevail, of course, but you get the point.
Madison has a huge difficulty with words, and she secretly doesn't want you to know that it's because she has self-esteem and emotional issues.
Usually, when she stutters to talk to you, Madison pretends it was just a random distraction, with something passing by that caught her attention.
And you know the truth, but you think it's cute when she doesn't admit it, so you just let it go.
When she decides to tease you for fear of showing too much weakness and showing her feelings, it gets hot…
Like, when her bitch persona takes over, you can expect the dirtiest flirting, with her claiming with all the certainty in the world that she's going to win you over, no matter what.
But the thing that always gives away how much Madison fell in love with you is her jealousy flare-ups.
If you're relatively close and hang out together, she'll get used to other people talking to you.
But if you start a friendship for now, you can expect that seeing another person too close to you would give her a nervous breakdown.
Another one of the cute things Madison in love would bring you.
Given time, she would open up to you, no dirty jokes, no malicious intent, just pure, genuine feelings.
"Fuck, (Y\N), I swear to God I'm going to regret this, but I need to tell you that I'm in love with you, and this time I mean it."
Misty Day
There is no more lovable person while in love than Misty Day.
(Okay, my favoritism plays a big part, but honestly, I can't imagine anything else happening on Misty's part.)
It's very likely that this is her first time falling in love with someone, and it leaves her literally in a panic for days…
She's always done pretty well on her own, but after she got to know you, she realized that company might not be such a bad idea.
But she's a little scared to get close to you, scared that you'll somehow abandon her.
So things would start out slow, with Misty approaching you, making conversation and hoping to get to know you better after that.
You would expect her to get very carried away talking about the things she likes (aka Stevie Nicks, swamps and flowers).
And you can hope that would be the cutest thing to witness.
Speaking of flowers, she would take you to see the Miss Robichaux Academy greenhouse, in an attempt to get even closer.
And then she would make a point of introducing you to her favorite songs.
If it happens at a time when she's already tested the Seven Wonders, Misty would make a point of playing with a few of them to see if you're more easily impressed.
Misty is exceptionally clumsy when it comes to being in your presence.
Like, at the ultimate level, literally, she's a mess whenever she sees you, her nervousness, wondering if she's doing everything right.
And Cordelia would be responsible for calming her down when needed (and giving her advice on the best ways to get to you.)
"So, (Y\N), I think… I think I like you. Like, a lot. In fact, I think I'm in love with you, that's it."
Nan
Nan is too confident about her feelings to talk to you.
So honestly when she realizes she's in love it's not a problem.
She's just a little in doubt if it's really what she wants, and if you won't be amazed at the things she can offer.
Nan realizes that falling in love is harder than she thought, so whenever she can, she enlists the help of the other girls.
Madison would certainly tell her to confess her feelings at once and don't give a shit.
But Zoe would certainly be keen to give the best advice.
As it turns out, Nan has her own ways of dealing with these kinds of feelings, and again, once she really does gain confidence, she'll come after you without any help.
Little gifts and a few words of affirmation are all it takes for Nan to demonstrate how in love she is with you.
She's occasionally showing off her gift of clairvoyance, just to impress you and make sure it's not a problem.
"Okay, this is incredibly unexpected, but I'm having a vision about us… and that means I love you beyond friendship, (Y\N)."
Queenie
Queenie would probably be a person who would easily give in to feelings.
Not that being in love wasn't a shock to her, because it would freak her out that anyone actually cared about her for who she really is, even if she was a complete mess.
But once she was sure how she felt about you, she would go to great lengths to let you know.
She's completely honest, so whatever she has to say, she'll say it to your face, of course, as softly as possible, but directly.
Queenie is the type of person who, in front of others, would pretend to hate clichés.
But she would do them all for you, from little notes to sweets to a cliché date in the moonlight to flowers, anyway…
Now, if you wouldn't mind knowing, Queenie would die and kill for you (after all, that's what voodoo skills are for, right?).
She wouldn't think twice about confronting someone who was harming you, even if it meant hurting the person physically.
"I'm sorry, but I had to. I love you, (Y\N)."
And at the end of the day, she's just being honest and looking out for you.
Myrtle Snow
Complete madness, that's what it would be like when Myrtle Snow fell in love with you.
She may appear calm in front of others, but would secretly freak out when she realizes she's into you.
Unlike Fiona, she probably wouldn't deal well with the idea of the age gap at first.
But Myrtle would get used to it and see how insignificant it is when she realizes that her company is good for her.
Like, it's the first time Myrtle has been able to feel truly happy, not being in Fiona's shadow or the Council itself.
And she would certainly go against several Council laws for you.
But there would be the weird part of it, the crazy things you would be exposed to, being with Myrtle.
Of course, at first her ideas were completely crazy, but you learned to like it and get used to it.
To help, now you make her think twice before trying to gouge someone's eye out or making an impulsive decision.
Countless trips to Balenciaga now and then, the only place Myrtle and you would feel safe being yourself.
"(Y\N), honey, I think I like you more than I should. I think I definitely love you, in a romantic and sexual way."
Mallory
The biggest cliché of two teenagers falling in love could possibly happen between you.
Mallory is the most devoted and romantic person you could ever meet.
She's shy about admitting her feelings for you at first, but she'll learn the best way to say it without being too direct and scaring you off.
Coco basically being your cupid.
Mallory would hand you little presents from time to time, and when she noticed you had a bad day, she would do anything to cheer you up.
Very cute scenes of jealousy would happen even before she confessed her feelings.
Just like Misty, she would use her knowledge of the Seven Wonders and other powers to impress you.
And maybe, combined with her angelic beauty, it would work.
"I love you, (Y\N). More than a friend. More than I've loved anyone in my entire life."
Marie Laveau
Marie is tough and keeps everything a big mystery.
But she wouldn't be initially surprised to be in love with you no matter what.
I mean, she doesn't have to worry about love lives anymore after she supposedly got the woman she once ruined with her romances.
Without Delphine, Marie would become someone much more open and secure about her feelings.
And she would let you figure it out for yourself what was going on, though, because she was still afraid to express herself out loud.
She would make a point of keeping you safe from her enemies.
And I think Marie would be the perfect companion to learn how to survive in an increasingly cruel and evil world.
After all, three centuries of existence had to indicate something, right?
"The thing is, I think you're hot, (Y\N), and what do we do now?"
Kyle Spencer
Kyle is the smol bean we all deserve.
If it happened before the accident and before he was magically turned into a frankenstein, he would do anything to get at you in the best possible way.
But if it happened before, he would probably also be brave enough to take the first step and surprise you with the most infamous pick up lines.
If it happened later, Kyle would be afraid to scare you with brutality as an enemy.
But he would be surprised when he realized that the love he felt for you kept him from hurting you in any way.
Small gestures that would show how much he loves you, secretly, without having to use words.
Kyle would still remember a little bit of his life before the accident, so as time went on, he would become frustrated with not being able to talk to you about how he felt.
And I think he would make an effort to learn to speak again if it meant that it would bring you closer.
You didn't trust witches. Perhaps a bit hypocritical considering you were one, but you'd been born into your coven and they betrayed you, sacrificed your life - and a few other young practitioners for some ritual. Your experiences on the other side had been harrowing and it left you with a healthy helping of dubiety for your entire species. You were a lone witch on the cold streets of Los Angeles. It wasn't safe to be alone, but you'd been convinced it was more dangerous otherwise.
So quiet you were invisible, you were aware of more than most. And, as a witch, that had already been the case. As you were accustomed to the ways of LA, having moved here over a decade ago, you walked the roads freely, travelled anywhere you liked. Having honed the powers you had already been taught, you were a force to be reckoned with.
You'd run across a few warlocks who tried to keep you off "their turf" and they soon learned to leave you be. You were one with the universe in ways they could not imagine. The mere wind following your lead had scared them silly; the lightning was just for laughs. Vampires roamed on occasion, but they couldn't touch you for some reason. You warded them off. There were a few locations you never visited due to the dark energy. Things happened and sometimes it's unavoidable. You could never walk away from someone in need. And somehow, you were always where you were needed.
You knew better than to always interfere. You could easily make something worse, but there wasn't much worse than the Hotel Cortez. It bugged you, that demonic prison. Guests came in every day and fewer came out. You couldn't say why you staked it out that day. Sometimes, the sunlight glittering off that cursed building hypnotized you, like it was tempting you inside. Your feet stayed planted though your eyes were distracted by the taxi pulling up.
A powerful presence stepped from the vehicle, dressed up in start red and black. Her studded leather jacket popped by the red dye in her dark curls. She stared up at the shining windows much like you had. You felt her, and it terrified you. Both for yourself and for the little witch about to wander into shark-infested waters. She thought it was just a pool, where she was protected by chlorine, and no fins shown until it was too late.
"Don't go to the Cortez," you shouted across the empty street.
Queenie turned around and saw an equally vacant area. Even you were gone. Without proof, she assumed it was her advanced intuition, but she was sent to investigate. Queenie stepped inside and called out for any employees.
*
Your mysterious Salem witch never came out. After a week, you decided a regular run-through of the halls was necessary. You did this on occasion to ensure the hotel hadn't opened a direct portal to Hell. And now you sought out your kind. The walls screamed for release, the number of essences far outnumbering the amount of rooms. But one particular room screeched like a witch on fire. You didn't enter, didn't make yourself known. Instead, you knelt on the floor, five fingertips on the rancid carpet.
You saw flashes of a faux-vampire trying to kill the self-proclaimed human voodoo doll, her wounds healing until the original killer himself, the first owner of the Hotel Cortez, James Patrick March killed the witch. You hated that man, a one-way vessel of evil; he just took and took, took lives, hope, and goodness and it just rotted away inside of him. But the excess blood the blood-whore didn't consume had flown freely onto the mattress, then dripped onto the carpet. The already lead-heavy thick carpets were topped with beads of red, ruby droplets travelling under the door gap. They hovered around your palm, discreet for your exit. And no one saw the invisible little witch slip in and out of Hell Hotel.
Back in your apartment, you got out supplies you hadn't touched in years, bottling the blood. You might have been considered a prodigy in your home coven, but it had been a long time since your magic making days. It might take weeks for you to design a potion then craft a spell to extract a soul from Hell Hotel, even a sister witch. You'd have to play with the herbs and research your old journals, and you still weren't even sure how to free a soul from that prison.
It didn't take weeks. Just one. Surprisingly, you were able to go some time without sleeping for this project. It was rare for something to give you such motivation. Perhaps it was the opportunity to practice your magic. So you went through your options. Making her spirit corporeal would kill you so unless you could enact the spell while not on Cortez property, that was out. You thought about a rewind just for her, but you would need her bones. You thought about just releasing her spirit, but that would be tantamount to taking on the entire evil in the Cortez. If you could repair her body or offer her a new one, she could just hop right inside. You needed the witch's bones and you might have earned just enough favors.
Ramona Royale was easily weakened, against a witch of your standing. Sapping the blood from her veins, pouring sunlight into her bedroom; you could turn her to stone if you pleased. And you'd never left a mess for the maid, unless she asked for one. The addiction demon was a rough topic for Sally, but you ended that conundrum no problem. Just enough ghosts knew and respected you to get you what you needed. She was rotting, but not for long. Back in your apartment, she gasped with life. "I told you not to go in there." Even as the 'I Told You So' left your lips, you went to work on the witch. The decay had been mostly cleansed, but the vessel would take time to replenish enough energy to function. A great deal of your power was currently being occupied keeping her alive. But it could always use a boost. You lathered some of your home-made herb-paste onto any exposed flesh; it would imbue her body with some extra energy and even retain as much as it could. As such, the vulnerable witch would probably sleep more than anything and she had no energy to spare, let alone to use magic.
"I heard that, but didn't see you- What are you doing, crazy bitch?!" the girl demanded. At first, she seemed very mature and levelheaded, but she didn't seem to appreciate your care. Your mystery medicine smelled pleasantly like one of her Supreme's poultices - a point for you - but Queenie didn't recognize it and texturally, it felt like some oil that might spontaneously catch fire. Or suffocate her. Your magic felt potent, but not like something she could pinpoint. So, she swatted you off.
However, that didn't go over well with you. You caught her wrists and glared down at her. "This crazy bitch just resurrected your cursed soul so maybe some trust. Why would I save you if I just wanted to harm you? And I have a name." You slathered the rest of the fluids from your hands to hers and told her.
"I-I'm Queenie," the woman reciprocated.
You stepped back and held out the jar. "Anytime you are feeling feint," you explained, a bit abashed. It had been some time since you'd spoken to another witch, or - you know - another person. You slowly pulled yourself onto the foot of the bed, leaving plenty of space between you both. You hoped she wouldn't kick you and winced. "...I'm sorry you were murdered," you bade. Shaking your head, you whispered, "No witch deserves to be sentences to that place. No person does, really, but I can only extract a sister."
That made the voodoo doll pause and finally look at you. "You are a witch." She looked up at your rather bland bedroom. "Is this your coven?" It was a valid question, but Queenie got the sense she overstepped.
Your eyes glued to your bedspread. "...No. I ...left my coven. They sorta left me first," you confessed.
That was a relief. Queenie would have hated to get on her savior's bad side, sister witch or not. As a member of the Supreme's Council, Queenie was well aware of other covens. Hell, she'd been tempted by Marie Laveau. Some were unethical, some just unorthodox, but a lone witch was a rare find. Criminals were often dealt with in-house and those who were banished were hexed to always confess it to any others of their kind. Now, Queenie wasn't a naturally suspicious witch, but she'd been burned by blind trust. "I'm sorry. I got left behind too. Thankfully, Cordelia found me and I found my family. In the coven." It was true and Queenie was proud to say it; proud of Cordelia. If anyone understood taking care of themselves, she did and she hoped to provide you with the same safety and kinship Queenie eventually found in her coven.
From the other end of the bed, you smiled genuinely. "I'm so happy you traded the foster system for a good home, or a good coven. Hell, I didn't even know those existed," you laughed out. You gestured with your finger briefly before they fell together in your lap again. "Don't forget your face and neck." Queenie obliged and you returned to the conversation with a head tilt. "Your parents abandoned you?"
Queenie was surprised at how face the herbs absorbed into her skin. And she was oddly pleased to have somebody care about this information and not be able to read her mind for the answers. There was an unknown level of trust that accompanied being able to choose her own words. She nodded. "Once I stared developing powers. I lived on the streets for a while then made my own life. I had a managerial position when Cordelia found me and what she offered was still better."
Your brow furrowed and you frowned rather adorable obviously trying not to be upset. "You sound like you're trying to sell me on your coven than my patient."
An abashed laugh escaped the voodoo witch. "Sorry. I just believe in my coven and it sucks ass that any witches are alone." After thinking, Queenie asked, "Could I have some water?"
With a swift nod, you hopped from the mattress and made for the door. You left it wide open, unconcerned with her seeing the space outside your room. Your bedroom was connected to the living room if the egg chair was anything to go by. There wasn't even a wall; the carpet just ended where the kitchen began. You got the first glass you could reach, and got some ice from the freezer. The water returned to Queenie in a glass goblet and you left again to bring a pitcher with ice and water in it in case she wanted more.
The voodoo witch drained the glass and the pitcher lifted and poured itself. Queenie's eyes bugged, but she drank that second cup right up. Next, she was waiting. But you didn't have the chance to tell her any more just might make her ill. The glass just about slipped from her fingertips, the woman laying all the way back abruptly.
"Like I said, apply anytime you're feeling feint." You took the jar and held it out.
Queenie eyed you through a wrinkled face. "Help me?"
With a gentle sigh, you started right where you had before. "And I'll need to get a new diet to promote healing. So I have to go to the store."
The witch went scared and shook her head. "Please don't leave me. I'm still not even sure this is real." She took your oily hand.
You used the move to lather her arm. "I don't have enough food to feed us both all week. You won't be unprotected. I can go when you're asleep so you won't even notice and I can make some of your favorite foods... so long as you tell me what they are." You had a cute smile you paired with another head tilt. Her hands were warm and secure in yours.
Not a few hours later, you had moved your chair next to Queenie's bed. On the nightstand, a grocery list written of two handwritings set. Queenie was wide awake, staring with laser focus. You were dressed in a sweatsuit, and you sat in your special hanging chair. One arm stretched over the table, the list, and Queenie held it in one of hers. With a few words of Latin, you drifted to sleep. Another version of you appeared in your doorway.
Queenie lit up. "Yo, that is badass! You gotta show me how to do that."
You faced the ground bashfully. The original you was still unconscious in the chair. This you was dressed for public. "When you're stronger, certainly. Now, in case you need me, wait until I leave the room then try to wake me." You gestured a lot, especially when referring to the versions of yourselves. But it was rather adorable, the way you jazz-hands'd and raced out of the room, shutting the door behind you.
The isolation alone was terrifying enough for Queenie to hold your hand tighter. She called your name, feeling the anxiety curl in her chest. She pulled on your arm gently. Why could she still smell that rancid Cortez odor? She pinched you.
The body next to her jolted awake. "Oh," you cooed, coming back into yourself fully, "you're a powerful little firecracker, aren't you?"
Queenie smirked.
"So, do you feel confident enough for me to go?"
The poor witch had to think hard on that. "I... think so. I mean, we need it, right? And I know the pinch is just for emergencies. It would suck if you dropped a big 'ole gallon of milk cuz I got paranoid."
You frowned in concern and leaned forward, holding her hand in both of yours. "Now, if you start feeling overwhelmed, certainly pinch me. I'll find somewhere isolated and come back real quick. It's not an automatic response." You waited for her acknowledgement and sat back. You mumbled in Latin and dropped off to sleep again.
Another version of you with a different outfit appeared leaned against your bedroom door. You preened your hair and smiled at Queenie. "Oh, yeah. This outfit is much cuter." Brushing a hand down your skirt, you kissed Queenie on the head and left with the door wide open, but locking the front door.
It took much longer than you thought for Queenie to need you but keeping in contact through a phone call through your radio probably helped. You were amidst the aisles when you felt the pinch. Luckily, you were near the bathrooms. Asking an employer to watch your cart, you found a free stall and locked it, waking up next to Queenie.
She had a wide-eyed look, definitely traumatized. In that moment, you decided she had to go back to her coven once well enough. She was adorable when happy and you were sad when she was. You were developing feelings and anyway she needed her people, her found family to help her. "I heard a noise. It was loud. I wanted to check myself, but-"
"Don't!" you commanded, standing up. "Seriously. Like, don't try to even stand for at least 24 more hours." You went around the corner and soon heard a loud thud.
"That was it! Are you okay?"
Your eyes kept wandering until you had a definitive answer. A flash of movement by the window you kept open made you sigh in relief. "Yeah, it's just the stray who uses me for my leftovers." You circled the counter and saw the orange feline. He saw you too and meowed. "I can't. I have to go back." Picking the unnamed boy up, you let him out the window and shut and locked it behind him. You re-entered the bedroom with a cordial smile. "That's all." You sat back down and took the woman's hand. You didn't even need to say the words, falling back into the WalMart bathroom stall. You made it all the way out the ladies' before you felt an identical pinch. Turning right back around, you made for ta closer stall. In front of Queenie, you asked, "Yes?"
She guiltily shrugged. "Get some Oreos too."
You smiled admonishingly before sitting back. The employee looked at you funny when you took your cart back and you hoped you didn't change outfits on accident. But, hey, the Supreme told the whole world about twitches. You got a second gallon of milk and some chocolate syrup. You got some protein, shake mix, then perused the fruits and veggies section. You tried your intuition to find the right herbs mixed in with the groceries. You made it back home in no time. Queenie had a few snackies and a shake she didn't mind while you prepared supper. The door was open so she could see you at any time. At one point, the voodooist had to put everything down.
You, of course, heard from the next room. "Feint?"
Queenie didn't even answer, just started applying your medicine. "Do you have the Power of Resurgence?" she called.
You snorted to yourself. "That sounds fancy. No, I just know how to transfer energy to an injury transferer...er." You looked confused. "...er?"
Queenie just silently laughed. You eventually brought in the food and good thing because she was starving! And it was a bonafide steak dinner with taters and some green herbs and some pasta." You sure know how to carbo-load a girl," she praised.
Still, you took it as sass and gave some right back. "How long were you dead?"
The council-witch lost her smirk at the reminder. She was starting form the bottom. "I don't want that nasty asperagus."
You laughed, eating one. "that's alright."
"Or the pasta."
You pointed at your sister witch with your fork. "That's not optional. The pasta has what you need." You cut off a piece of steak.
"Seriously with the carbs.
"You didn't eat for-"
Queenie held up her hand. "I get it." She twirled some pasta around her firk and took a dramatic bite.
You smiled and took a sip of water.

Day two of recovery, you were helping the determined witch walk. Half of the time - more - Queenie ended up leaning on you. Eventually, you fetched her one of the hand carved walking sticks you'd found and bought some time ago because why not. And it was useful. The voodooist still had you should she want or need you, but the poor girl was permitted her independence. By the end of the day, she knew your home forwards and backwards, condensed as it was.
On day three, Queenie could go longer without your remedy, but she ate your cooking no problem. She awoke that morning to a sound she already adored. You enjoyed your time in the kitchen and half the time, you were making magic. As the guest emerged from the only bedroom, heavily dependent on that stick, she hobbled to the table. "You're baking?"
You jumped and spun around. "Yeah..." You suddenly went from silly to serious. "You should still be in bed." You pointed sternly.
Queenie eyed the kitchen eagerly. She now knew not to take your attitude seriously. You were blatant if it really mattered and once, you took things into your own magic hands. "Yeah, I was just going stir-crazy." Her eyes found the bowl in your hands and she could smell the cookie dough. In half a second, her eyes transformed into a puppy-dog's; they held the essence of begging.
"My price is... GET YOUR BUTT IN BED!"
Queenie gladly hopped to. She laid into bed, and you were hot on her tail. You gently put the bowl in her lap and leaned in close. You gingerly held her face. You stared for some time, tilting your head this way and that. Queenie almost wished you'd just kiss her so she could match your moves. You twirled one curl between your fingers. "I think... you can be moved tomorrow. Road trip?" you offered.
"To New Orleans?" Queenie clarified excitedly.
"Well, you didn't drive. I have a job I have to wrap before the end of the week, but I can make it. " You smiled quite innocently.
Queenie was enraptured by you. She suddenly understood everyone's fascination with Misty. The unique magic made you glow. "I'd be really grateful." And who knows? Maybe Queenie and Cordelia combined could convince you to join their coven. For now, Queenie ate, then she laid down. You gave her her last treatment of oil for a while, at her behest.
You shut the door to give the young woman her privacy and went about cleaning the kitchen. Of course, your mind was occupied by the thoughts of your guest. She was a firey thing and opinionated, and you felt her magic so you knew she was powerful and capable. But it had been so long since you'd had someone to quip with, to be aware of you quite like you were aware of everything. And of course you were very attentive to your guest, so in tune with anything she might need. She was funny and took what she gave and gave what she took.
A knock at the door drew your attention and you didn't think anything about answering it. Until the door was open. Everything was permitted across an unblocked threshold. And power was one thing every witch could feel. It let them know they were in the presence of those they could act freely around. The very tall blonde woman was like a foghorn and a disco ball of magic. The instant you felt her, your eyes flew up. You met the eyes of the current Supreme and stumbled backwards. You practically threw yourself out of her way. Your recognized her as part of Queenie's coven, council; Hell, she ran it all. So you knew she was a good guy - well, better than any warlock you'd met - but that didn't stop you from being terrified. You were a bug of a witch compared to the Supreme - easily squashed - and not exactly pure of magic. It was probably the reason why you could free Queenie, but the Supreme didn't inherently know all of this. You fell back against the wall, far out of the way. One arm extended to Queenie's currently location, your bedroom door opening via your magic.
She wasn't angry, just singularly powerful, and it sent you the same vibes as when you coven's elders killed you. You felt bad, felt like you'd thrown Queenie under the bus, but this was her people. And her supreme rushed to her aid.
You stayed out here, trying to rein in your bladder and your urge to pack and run. After all, they were both in your room with everything you would pack. You kept yourself occupied and gave the Salem witches their privacy.
Eventually, after a few tense hours, the Supreme emerged from you room. "She's sleep again," she reported. You nodded, pleased to hear it. The most powerful witch on Earth circled your sofa, eyeing you. "I'd say thank you for allow me entry to your home so quickly, but you seemed more scared of me than anything." You didn't say anything; she was stating fact. "Well, you are a very knowledgeable witch and I would like to personally thank you for your care for my girl. I know something was different, but it took time to get away." You couldn't relate so you still didn't speak. "Queenie said you might provide transportation back to New Orleans... tomorrow?" Cordelia finally asked.
You winced. She would certainly be well enough, but you were a bit disappointed to say goodbye so soon. You nodded excessively. "Ye-yeah. Sure thing. Tomorrow." You turned away and stood, trying to hide your pain. You sang, "Roadtrip!" and bit backs tears. "Tea?"
Cordelia the Supreme saw so much. It felt no good and too late, but she couldn't change the past. But she could help someone here and now. She followed you to the kitchen and helped you prepare the drinks. She took two cups to the backroom and you followed with your hot cocoa.
Queenie was smiling wider than you'd ever seen her. "I think you've already met, but this is Cordelia, Supreme and leader of our coven." You smiled cordially, taking a sip. Queenie frowned in concern, but not confusion. Talking was really all you'd been able to do so you knew each other, really well, what you could remember. The voodooist knew she was the exception to your witch avoiding rule so she introduced you to the Supreme with a vague explanation: "She saved me. She put me back into my own skin and she's slowly putting energy back into me."
Cordelia, however, wasn't aware of why you were so quiet and jumpy. "You sound like an exceptional witch. Have you ever been mentored?" she asked you directly.
Your heart felt like a horse at full run. Your cup shook the slightest bit. "I left my coven." And you drew a bit further into yourself.
"...yeah. She had to pull a Madison," Queenie vaguely hinted. She'd told you about Maddison Montgomery, so it wasn't like they were talking in code. The previous Supreme, Cordelia's own mother, was a threat to the to the coven and she'd killed Madison, but no one in the coven doubted she'd kill anyone in her way or her successorship. Madison was eventually resurrected, like you, but she wised up and decided to take off. She didn't get as far as you.
Cordelia understood and nodded solemnly. "I'm sorry your own coven wasn't right for you."
You shrugged. At least you didn't have to worry about a "right fit". You were a lone witch.
*
You were quite naive to think two powerful witches who were confident in their coven, the one they shaped because they were its leaders, would let it lie there. Neither said anything because if your solitude was anything to go by, you were still very affected. You continued to tend to Queenie and she appreciated it.
Cordelia watched on from a distance how quickly you went to Queenie, how eager you were to expand yourself to her, the care and trust you two shared after such a short time. She couldn't help but smile that one of her girls had found her match. Now to get you with your people. You would likely be tired once in NOLA; they all would be after so long in a car. Cordelia would totally let you stay for a nap. Queenie might give you a tour, introduce you to a few of the girls. You would see the coven because you did see everything for exactly as it was. There, she was confident that it would work out naturally. But Cordelia wanted to bond with you naturally now. You had refused her offer to help you cook so she butted in to help you clean.
You didn't say very much, but she saw that coming. Cordelia took the dishes out of the rinsing sink and dried them, occasionally asking where things went, but you'd opened all of the dish cabinets. Likely to impede the conversation, but Cordelia would not be stopped, not at the prospect of taking in another girl. "Have you ever been to New Orleans?" she asked gently, having sensed the delicate nature you hid, the flinch when she came closer. She gave you her full attention when Queenie wasn't around, so she saw you shake your head in response. "I'm sure Queenie would show you around." She felt something when drying this plate and so handed it back. It disappointed her that you slipped away, hawk eyes fixed on the dish. Your coven had not cared for you like they were supposed to. "Return the favor," she whispered. You went about wiping down the counters once you finished the dishes. Cordelia just dried her hands and stepped back, watching you. She glanced to check Queenie was still sleeping before continuing her endeavor. "Did you know I already tried to free Queenie from the Hotel?"
Now, that caught your attention. You stopped your cleaning but still didn't face her. "I did not." And you resumed cleaning.
But the Supreme knew she had your complete attention. "Yes. For days I drew Queenie with me. We tried every exit, I tried every spell, but nothing worked. Eventually, even Queenie gave up hope. I went back to the coven a failure until I felt the sister I lost again," she stated, her voice cracking as she did.
You weren't sure what to say; you didn't quite understand but you did care for sister witches. It was why you saved Queenie, after all. When the Supreme stepped toward you, you responded quite dramatically. You jerked all the way back. Cordelia looked very concerned for your mental health. "Yes, and I did. Unfortunately, my magic isn't as pure as Salem witches. What I did to survive and what I do is-"
"No, no!" the mommy witch tried to calm you. She didn't approach any further, but did allow her inner tranquility to fill the space. She wasn't sure if it had worked or even could due to your permanently paranoid state. "It's exactly your impure magic that allowed you to do as I could not. And you're right; I have no footing to judge your choices, nor would I, particularly those for your survival. I am so thankful for your magic."
You frowned at the broad; you weren't sure if you believed her, but the tension drained from your shoulders.
"Everything okay in here?" Queenie asked as she entered the room, walking on her own toward the bathroom.
Both you and Cordelia went to lunge forward, but you forcibly planted your feet, raising your arm to block the Supreme passing you. You were so focused on Queenie, you paid no mind to the tingles of a very powerful witch in contact with you. You didn't remember your fear. But your ...friend was healthy enough to walk alone. You were quite happy for her and had to prepare for a long trip.
*
You were hardly on the road when Queenie asked you to stop at a FroStop. You looked in the rearview mirror quite sternly, an eyebrow raised. "Maybe in Colorado, but I'm only stopping for gas until we're halfway there. Want something from inside?" you offered. Queenie grinned guiltily. You responded with a knowing smile and, "Besides Oreos."
"Pepsi?" she requested.
Cordelia got out of the back seat where she sat with her sister. "I'll get the snacks. Do you want anything?" she asked you quite sweetly.
You soured and turned to the gas pump. "Get Queenie a water too. I'm set."
The blonde didn't believe you, but as long as you were woefully frightened of the Supreme getting closer to you, she couldn't do a thing for you. She tried by getting an extra water, but you never touched it. You were desperate for a water at the fast food joint. Cordelia pitied you and your paranoid ways, as well as the affects. However, she knew from experience that all she could do was be patient. Queenie stared up at you also in pity as she ate her food. She didn't even need to tell you her order, miraculously. You knew her so well in such a short time and yet you kept them at a distance now, hurting her on the inside. As a foster kid, she understood not trusting others, but you did trust Queenie. And she also understood the worries of being exposed, but Queenie would soften for you no matter the stressors.
You were exhausted by the time you arrived in New Orleans. Eventually, you'd have to get a motel room, re-energize for the drive back. Unfortunately for your plans, it was noticeable.
The Supreme exited on the driver's side as that was the side she sat on. "Here, you can stay in Queenie's room," she offered, stepping closer. She even took your elbow.
You, of course, emphatically moved free. "I'm fine."
Queenie bent over, hands on her knees. "Little help?" she called dramatically.
You glanced over your shoulder suspiciously. "You could walk fine yesterday. And earlier today." And how else could you be in the heart of witch town?
"Been in the car all day!" she tried to excuse. Cordelia even circled the car to help.
You suddenly hardened in the face, though you really didn't move anything. "Just like a witch to manipulate," you said gravelly, with a head tilt.
Queenie suddenly stood straight, called out. "I'm sorry. I was just worried your suspicion would run you out of town," she confessed. The poor girl found something she thought was great and it was about to leave her.
You narrowed your eyes, stepping closer to them, but still on the other side of the car. "So, you tried to trick me into staying longer?" you asked rhetorically. With a scoff and a headshake, you got back into your seat. In that moment, you decided to drive as far back as you could make it tonight then find lodging or a rest-stop to let you sleep in your car.
"Now, wait-" the Supreme went to stop you.
But your paranoia came with the advantage of quick thinking and you telekinetically threw a potted plant then a lost vape at her. It wasn't near enough to stop the Supreme, but it held her up long enough for you to drive off.
*
Dating you was a bit like dating online, but you'd met first. Well, you'd actually saved Queenie's life as an introduction. The long distance made romance more difficult, but magic made it easier. Queenie was hoping you'd come to NOLA again (because she was not coming to LA), but circumstances helped her get her wish. Your phone rang your long distance girlfriend's ringtone and you picked it up with a smile.
"Sorry I don't have a better excuse to call you, but you have the most colorful magic I know. How's your relationship with Satan?" Queenie asked.
You giggled at her phrasing of your tainted magic. "He doesn't like me," you admitted.

The streets of New York were hardly ever empty, but, if less crowded, and just as I expected, walking to my apartment at 4:00 A.M. on a Friday was pretty quiet.
Tina would sure berate me for walking the streets late at night, but as long as Newt keeps her entertained in his own apartment, she'll never find out.
Although the streets were more lonely, that made it easier for me to be able to hear the thoughts of people even from a certain distance; like the tourist couple behind me, who wanted to get to their hotel to pack up and leave early tomorrow, or the guy across the street who wanted to get to his girlfriend's house, that person...
'That butt is gorgeous'
That thought came to me almost like lightning, loud and clear, more than the others. I quickly turned my head to see if anyone was looking at me, but no one was behind me anymore, and the few people around me seemed to be submerged in their own world.
Thinking that maybe it was just my imagination, I continued walking, now, a little more alert.
'I wonder if that pretty little mouth can suck a dick like mine'
I stopped pacing, now I knew those thoughts weren't hallucinations of mine.
The voice was heard more clearly, it was a man, with a rather hoarse and drunken voice, not to mention that I almost heard him as if he were whispering next to me, which worried me, so I began to walk faster, almost jogging, until i hear another thought
'Please don't touch me'
I heard it much lower, almost like a whisper of the wind itself; until I hear some sobs in the alley through which I was going to pass.
There were figures I could make out in the dark, a large man, with what I assume was a straggly beard, lunging at a smaller figure, who was flat against the wall.
Without taking my eyes off the figures, I reached into my bag to pull out my wand and hold it in my hand.
"Hey!"
Both figures turned to see me, the man started running towards me to try to stop me, but I was faster than him.
“Petrificus totalus”
The man fell, eliciting a small cry of surprise from the person glued to the wall.
“Lumos maxima”
I started to walk towards the end of the alley, watching as the figure flopped onto the pavement.
"Honey, are you okay?"
'What a shame for someone to see me in this state'
"Oh honey, don't worry, are you okay?"
She just gave me a little nod
Now with the light I could make out the figure.
It was a woman, with long, straight hair, black with violet tips. She was wearing a black mini skirt, with a white blouse, long black faux leather high heeled boots and a long reddish brown leather jacket with a small black bag.
"Do you want to go somewhere where you feel safer?" I held out my hand.
"I don't know if I want to go home in this state," her replied in a small whisper.
"Oh, I know a place where they sell coffee that is open all night, if you like I'll take you"
"Yes please"
She took my hand and helped her up, she brushed the back of her skirt and with the sleeve of her jacket, she tried to wipe her cheeks.
Trying not to make her uncomfortable, I began to walk slowly, but leaving a considerable space between her and me. We didn't have to walk far, until we got to the famous coffee shop, I let the stranger go in first and the girl, she quickly sat down on the Armchairs Booths they had next to the windows
We sat across from each other while we read the menu that was left for us on the table in complete silence. I looked at her out of the corner of my eye, only to realize that she was only looking at the menu on the table, without a shred of attention, she was just playing with her rings on her trembling fingers.
The waitress came over to take our order.
“I want a mocha cappuccino, please”
The waitress wrote down my order and looked at the stranger, but she didn't take her eyes off the menu, without reading anything at all. The waitress cleared her throat, making the stranger look at her scared.
"Sorry?"
"Your request," the woman nodded at the small notebook, while putting all her weight on her left leg and impatiently moving her right
"Oh, I'd like a latte, please."
"Don't you want something to eat?" I asked.
"Oh no, I don't want to bother you"
"Honey, don't bother me." I touched her hand on the table, but quickly moved it away so as not to bother her.
"Okay, only if you share it with me"
"Done. What can we order to share?"
“We have sandwiches...”
"A ham sandwich is perfect"
"Perfect, we'll deliver it to you in a moment."
They left us alone again; and while the stranger was still playing with her rings, I couldn't take my eyes off her
"Don't you have a way to contact someone?"
"My phone died, and the few friends I had abandoned me at the bar."
An awkward silence formed, who leaves their friend alone on the streets of New York?
"Hey, now that I think about it, I'm buying you food and I don't even know what your name is"
"Hey, now that I think about it, I'm buying you food and I don't even know what your name is"
"Sorry, I'm Y/N, what'syourname?
“Queenie”
"That's quite a name...
“Strange?”
"I would say peculiar, but yes, it is strange"
"Yes, they tell me regularly"
We both fell silent as the waitress served us our orders and slowly left.
"And you're a witch, aren't you?" I ask, taking a little of her coffee.
"Yep" I took my piece of sandwich and I took a bite calmly, until reality hit me "I didn't scare you, right? Because if I did...
"Are you crazy? Of course you didn't scare me, you're my hero" she was the one who took my hand, and gave me a sweet smile "I don't have a way to repay you"
"No, there is no need to pay for this, I feel good just to see you well"
We both took another bite of our sandwich in silence, until she interrupted him again.
"How did you know we were there?" she whispered.
"I'm a legilimens " Y/N just raised her eyebrows in confusion "I can hear people's thoughts"
"Really?"
“Yes”
"So can you tell me what I'm thinking?"
'His dimples are adorable'
"Do you really think my dimples are adorable?"
The color red began to stain her cheeks from embarrassment, but she kept her gaze fixed on me.
“Yes”
'It will be complicated, I can't stop thinking about how beautiful she is'
It was my turn for the blush to rise to my face
"But I can avoid it, if it bothers you, I can control it, but sometimes it's difficult, especially when the person is suffering"
"That explains the alley thing," Y/N whispered.
"Exactly," I went back to drinking my coffee. "Anyway, you seem very familiar with the fact that I'm a witch."
"Oh, I know a lot of people."
She just said that and kept eating, so I did the same, until we both finished
"Queenie, it was nice meeting you, and I thank you again for saving me, but I have to go, I'm going to report what happened to the police"
Her got up, and I quickly did the same
"You don't expect me to let you go alone, do you?"
"Queenie, you've done enough for me..."
The sound of my cell phone interrupted her, it was Tina who was talking to me
"Hello?”
"Queenie? Where the hell are you? I've already arrived at the apartment and no sign of you."
"Tina, I'm busy, it's an important matter, we'll talk later."
"Are you OK?"
“Yeah”
"Okay, just let me know when you arrive, please"
"Yes I love you"
"I love you"
and hung up
“My sister can be a headache, but, I have nothing to do, now let's go”
We paid the bill, and Y/N hailed a cab.
///
I had to wait for Y/N outside the venue; I had to wait more than 2 hours, so that in the end, Y/N came out with a calmer smile
"Is everything ready?"
"Yes, only that I will have to come later to recognize the subject, but, most likely, he is still in the alley"
The cops had left 5 minutes ago so, yes, the degenerate could still be there.
"In a while, are you going to have to come back?"
"Honey, it's already dawn, so yes, in a few hours I'll have to go back."
I was so worried about Y/N that I barely even noticed the sun had started to rise.
"Do you want me to walk you home?"
“That's very nice of you, Queenie. She is not very far, so if you want, we can walk”
"It sounds like a plan to me"
///
"You haven't told me much about yourself," she said as she played with the straps of her bag.
"What do you want to know about me?"
"Absolutely everything"
"Well, I only have an older sister named Tina, she's also a witch, we both studied at Ilvermorny School (Massachusetts), where we learned more about magic. We graduated and now I work for the 'Magical Congress' here in New York. Currently I live near here, with my sister, although now she is too busy with boyfriend Newt"
"Where are your parents?"
"They died of dragonpox"
"I'm sorry"
"Don't worry, what about you?"
"Nothing Beyond a Normal Life"
"Seriously? You have to be playing, of course there is something interesting in your life."
“Compared to yours, my life is…quiet. I lived and grew up in the same house in suburban Portland, along with stupidly cheesy parents who still love each other to this day, with 1 sister and 1 brother and a dog; now that I think about it, the strangest thing that has happened in my life is that my parents are still together"
We both laughed as we continued walking in silence.
"And why did you move to New York?"
"I wanted to escape"
///
We both went up to her apartment, but just as Y/N was starting to say goodbye to me, when the door in front of us opened, revealing a woman, a little older than Y/N holding a baby
"Y/N, where were you? Do you know what time it is?"
"I know, I know; it's a long story, I'll tell you later"
"Well" the woman handed over the baby who was beginning to yawn "here, her was just going to sleep again. Good night"
The woman walked back in as the baby snuggled close to Y/N's chest and blurted out light “Mama”, “Mama”
"You didn't tell me you had a baby"
'Shit, shit and more shit'
"It's quite a complicated story" the woman started rocking the baby "but I understand if this is not what you want..."
'Her doesn't want to know anything about me. Somebody like her, she don't want a load like me'
"Story I'd like to hear on a date" both Y/N and her thoughts fell silent "sure, if you don't mind"
"On the contrary, I would love to"
I handed him my phone so he could write down his number
"So, I'll pick you up next Saturday at 4:00 PM? We can go to Central Park, so the baby can play."
The blush crept back up Y/N's face, so she tried to hide it by kissing her baby's head.
“That's perfect.”
"So, see you" I leaned in to kiss her cheek and stroke the baby's head "bye Y/N, good night...
"Phoebe, her name is Phoebe."
"Good night Phoebe, take good care of your mommy."
she just laughed
"Bye Queenie”
"Bye Y/N"
"You already said that" she laughed again
I turned and started walking backwards “I'm sorry, so...until Saturday?”
"We will be there"
"I look forward to them"
He entered the apartment and closed the door, letting me walk to my apartment with a flutter in my heart and a nice smell of sweet baby in my nose
I don't know whether to continue with this story or leave it as a single chapter, What do you think?
