9. As a child, what did they want to be when they grew up? Did they realize their dream?
As a child, Sera thought she knew exactly what she would grow up to be; a detective. Her father started off as a police officer, ranked up to a detective, and kept ranking up further and further until he became a Senior Special Agent with the National Intelligence Service (NIS) of Korea, (aside from being a Kingsman.) She’s a lot like her father, and if it wasn’t seeing him invest the majority of his time into the job that influenced her, it was her near-obsession with mysteries, solving them, and finding the truth.
Now in terms of realizing that dream, the answer is both a yes and a no. Sera has plenty of contacts within the police force (in multiple nations, actually), and growing up… she was somehow in the right place and time for many cases, and inserted herself into the investigation, (often ending up being threatened to be arrested for “obstruction of justice”, but the charges always dropped because of her actually helpful contributions.) She was nicknamed a “child-” and following so “high-school detective” in her younger years.
Growing up though, she realized that if she were to join the force, she wasn’t going to go about it through the Police Academy. She wanted to be more involved in the investigation than anyone else when she got a case on her hand, and what better way to do that than to become a CSI? And so she studied Forensic Science in University, minoring in Psychology.
But her plans were interrupted when she was recruited by Kingsman. She completed her degree, but didn’t work with it for long after as it often conflicted with her more clandestine missions. And so after the completion of a certain case, she submitted her resignation, sans explanation. Members of the SPD still try to convince her to return to the job, often attempting to “lure” her in by giving her the temporary badge of a “police consultant”, and they’ve almost succeeded multiple times as her thirst for mystery, and the whole process of seeking out the truth, is her most overpowering drug, (plus the fact that, like her father, she is an obsessive workaholic.) But for the time being, she holds her ground.
10. What makes them feel safe or secure? What makes them feel insecure or unsafe?
Sera is brave, courageous, bold; there isn’t something specific that would plant fear in her heart, or snatch away her sense of security. Perhaps because her sense of security is heavily based on the fact that she trusts in herself and her abilities. So I suppose the moment she thinks she can’t handle or do something, then fear might seep into her chest. She is prone to the natural forms of fear, of a palpitating heart when a gun is pointed at her, or a knife is pressed against the throat of a hostage. That being said though, she is not one who is handicapped in the face of fear. It is very unlikely that fear will stand in her way of acting and reacting.
14. What are they like when they are drunk?
Sera actually does not drink, if she can help it, (almost at all and regardless of the type of the drink; as long as it has alcohol, she wouldn’t want it). The idea of losing control over herself is something she refuses to experience, (and it is perhaps one of her biggest fears.) The only time she would drink is if a mission required her to, but even then, she’d likely order the least alcoholic beverage on the menu, or would take a few sips and set her glass down, not intending to touch it again. I can’t quite answer what she’s like as a drunk, because I doubt she ever drank to the point of being drunk. (Though I kinda imagine that she’d have a weak tolerance to alcohol negl.)
