It had been a long day. Carrying shopping bags in one hand, you unlocked the door with the other. As you opened the door you were greeted with the scent of home. Exhausted, you dropped the bags by your feet, and collapsed on the couch. Socrates was nowhere to be seen. He’s probably knocked something over in my bedroom, you thought. You rose from the couch, only to stop by some of your house plants. ‘Are you guys thirsty?’ you asked the plants, despite knowing that you would get no reply. ‘They shouldn’t be,’ came a voice, ‘i watered them a little while ago.’                                                                                          You froze; someone was in your house.  

Your eyes scanned around for something to use as a weapon. There were only plants in your reach. ‘Oh, and i fed Socrates too, he was meowing in front of his bowl. I hope you don’t mind?’                                                                                     Gaining a little bit of courage, you turned around. Lee Taemin was standing less than a meter away, holding Socrates in his arms. You looked at the handsome idol in disbelief. Taemin was standing there. in. your. living room. Socrates purred loudly in Taemin’s arms. Taemin’s smile to grew wider, as he proceeded to rub his cheek against Socrate’s. He smiled sweetly at you, you were sure that you could feel your heart melt just a little.    

‘W-what are you doing here? Is this a dream?’                                                         ‘I came to wish you a happy birthday, of course! Do you want me to go?’ he pouted. ‘No!’ you blurted. He beamed at your response. You cleared your throat awkwardly, ‘I just don’t understand how all this is possible…’                                   ‘All you need is just a little imagination,’ he stated, as if it was the most obvious answer in the world.

You awoke on the couch. Had it all been a dream? you wondered. Socrates was fast asleep on your lap. You looked around the room. A small folded piece of paper lay upon the coffee table. Stretching out, you picked up the paper. You opened it up and it said: ‘Happy birthday Nina, may all of your dreams come true. Taemin x ‘

(firstly, i want to apologise for that terrible writing, it sounded like a good idea in my head… and besides, i think theres already enough cheese in this post to make a cheesecake with… ) Happy birthday!! Even though Taemin and I cant make it, I hope that you have a great day, and not get too stressed out. I had so much trouble trying to paint socrate’s fur, just like when i got the bright idea to try and paint that lion for you last year, ahah (i like making myself suffer OTL ) I’m just glad i got finished in time for your birthday. I honestly hope that whatever you end up doing, you’ll have a good day. And maybe one day i’ll get to bake you a real cheesecake. x

hmm, i’m more of a chocolate person than a lolly person. but milk bottle and pineapples, sour gummy worms, red frogs, etc are nice
