“Hm... my gut instinct is to say no, but if there was a possibility of me being in Selene, I might say yes? They just have one of my favourite discographies in the entire industry and they sing, sing, you know? Hard not to want that for myself.”
if you were offered a role in a movie that was guaranteed to be a hit and you knew you'd get glowing reviews but you had to never sing professionally again, would you take it?
“Nah. I don’t like acting that much to give up a career in singing. The thing about a hit and getting glowing reviews for a role in a movie is that it doesn’t really guarantee anything. So you’re really good one day, in one movie, in one specific setting, and that becomes the single reference people have of you. You’re never allowed to branch out much from what you did there, otherwise you’re at risk of fucking it up. Everybody is always anticipating what you’re gonna do next and any performance that isn’t quite as stellar is met with immediate negative reviews or comments about how underwhelming you are. The higher you climb the bigger the fall. I wouldn’t bet on that when I could just have my singing career for as long as my vocal cords allow me to.”

“Take me to a sports game and buy me a beer and you’re halfway to being in my favourite people in the world list.”
if you could live anywhere in the world, where would you pick?
“My gut instinct says New York but my brother would unalive me if I ever suggested living in the United States. Maybe New Zealand? Or England? It depends on living circumstances and whatnot. I’d prioritise New Zealand over England if only because I would be living somewhere that wasn’t cold as shit.”
