Currently Reading: Before We Disappear by Shaun David Hutchinson. I've only read the first couple of chapters, but I'm really enjoying the main characters and the overall atmosphere! (Next up on the TBR is The Works of Vermin by Hiron Ennes. I am ABSURDLY hyped for it, especially after devouring Leech in like two days last month.)

Last Song: Never Enough. It's on my current WIP's playlist for. Reasons.

Last Film: The 1953 version of War of the Worlds. It was all right! I much prefer the radio drama as an interpretation of the book, but the movie did an excellent job with the visual spectacle, particularly during the opening sequence and the evacuation scenes.

Last Game: Baldur's Gate 3, my absolute (hah) beloved. Loving the hell out of my first playthrough and already eager for the next session <3

Last Series: Ooh. I don't watch much TV; I genuinely can't remember. Does a series of nature-related PBS documentaries count?

Coffee or Tea: Tea for sure! I actually finished a cup of a lemon-ginger blend halfway through writing this post.

A mind-reading future-seeing sassmaster and his bitey illusion-weaving twin sister orchestrate the downfall of the empire that conquered their home. Hi, anon from radohxst's asks! Sooo if you are also open to asks could you tell me more about who Calixto is and what's his deal and how he feels about everything and what was on his list of limits and what freaked him out about the Incident? You guys are all awesome <3

A lot of Calixto’s info can be found on his about page or his headcanon tag.

Essentially, he’s a hipster math nerd who claims to be above the mainstream, but he’s a romantic and trusts easily. He’s drawn maybe too much to dangerous men and loves a good cup of tea. He has OCD and is a recovering alcoholic. He likes to feel desired and needed by his partners.

However, know that bdsmvale Calixto is a little different from normal-verse Calixto.

BDSMvale Calixto is polyamorous, first of all. (In normal-verse, he also does not have feelings for Eugene at all.) He also goes to therapy sometimes instead of getting re-educated, so he is a little more aware of his issues. He’s the head sub under Diego- at least he was, and now he and Kevin are sort of having a power struggle. He subs for the club, but he’s a switch in his private life. He’s a little more assertive than normal-verse.

His limits (I keep meaning to send this into the bdsmvale blog) are: Soft limits: Impact-based pain (e.g., spanking, bruising), dubcon roleplay scenarios, humiliation, mild age play. Hard limits: Kissing on the mouth, noncon roleplay scenarios, degradation, blood, sharp pain (e.g., cropping, cutting), any sort of “race play” or racial slurs.

What happened at the Incident was that Calixto and Kevin were, at Diego’s insistence, about to have some really good angry sex. Kevin didn’t know about Calixto’s OCD (he thinks mouths are germy- any mouth-to-mouth contact is a no) and kissed him on the mouth. Calixto immediately had a panic attack and an attack of compulsive behavior. It left both of them even farther apart.
