❁ True Friendship Endures ❁
Regina had been home from the hospital for a few days now. She was trying to take it easy to allow her body time to recover, which meant that she was mostly resting and caring for the twins. Once fed and changed, the twins were very content to sleep until their tiny tummies demanded more food at night, which allowed both herself and David more sleep than some parents with newborns. They’d gotten lucky with two good babies who nursed well, and attempted to comfort each other when one was fussy.
They’d started crying around noon today, not long after their feeding and diaper changes. She knew it was because David had popped out to run an errand and they missed him, especially Victoria. Regina had tried pretty much everything before finally turning to an indie singer she’d stumbled upon one day that had a nice voice. The music seemed to be soothing them until the doorbell rang and the crying started up again.
Shushing the twins softly she turned the music up a bit so they could hear it better before she hurried to answer the door to reveal Granny with a take-out bag. “Eugenia, I didn’t realize you made deliveries. Did David order that? He’s not here right now,” she offered looking distractedly over her shoulder towards the source of two angry wails.
