Caterham Reveal F1 Car for FIA 2014
Last Tuesday, 28th January 2014 Caterham finally unveiled the CT05 F1 car for this 2014 season. This car will be driven by the F1 Master Passer “Kamui Kobayashi paired with the new driver Swedish Marcus Erickson. CT05 is the first to be fully designed and built at the team's Leafield Technical Centre.
This car is Caterhams F1 team answer to the all-new F1 regulations that have come into force in 2014.
For fourth year now Caterham car will be powered by Renault Sport F1, using the new Renault Energy F1 engine mated to a Red Bull Technology gearbox.
Kamui Kobayashi has admitted that Ferrari "are not really happy" with his decision to turn down another season of sportscar racing and resurrect his F1 career at Caterham.
"I have to say they're not really happy about my decision. But I said to Stefano [Domenicali], 'This is my dream, to be in Formula 1, and I think this is the last chance to be a race driver'," Kobayashi said.
"He gave me a good offer but unfortunately I had to decide this way. This is all my decision and definitely I had to say to Stefano thanks for all the support last year. It was a very great experience for me but I'm here for Formula 1, not for driving GT."

501c3 status and a visit to TED
Happy New Year!
The year 2012 is young, but we already have some very exciting news to share.
Let’s start with the biggest and best. On Friday (the 13th nonetheless!) we found out that the IRS approved Tagai as a 501c3 public charity, making us a tax-exempt organization! Tagai's mission, as always, is to pair like-minded individuals from unlike backgrounds in order to open new worlds; this is going to affordus the opportunity to open new worlds for many more recently immigrated high school students and young professionals in New York. We are just starting to brainstorm on how we can take advantage of this. Stay tuned for updates.
We kicked off our 2012 calendar this past Saturday with an event hosted by TED at their headquarters. TED embodies the values of Tagai as they are all about the magic that happens when people from different fields, different backgrounds and different perspectives come together to share ideas. TED talks have been hugely inspirational for us in important ways and it was wonderful to see the same excitement in the students’ faces. We watched jaw-dropping talks on three very separate topics:
Pattie Maes and Pranav Mistry on their wearable computing device, “Sixth Sense”
David Gallo on shape shifting octopi and other wonders of the ocean
William Kamkwamba on building a windmill from parts found in a garbage heap and, more impressively, with know how gleaned from pictures in a physics book written in a language he didn’t speak!
If you haven’t seen these, check them out! They’re fantastic. As an added bonus, Casson, from theTED Prize team, joined us to talk about the 2012 TED Prize winner, “City 2.0.”Students and mentors spent time designing their vision for the city of the future. Everyone brought interesting and diverse ideas to the table ranging from societies that promote collaboration and education to cleaner, more sustainable environments. We literally watched the ideals of Tagai play out in front of us as the mentors and students shared their visions. With days like these one can’t help but be optimistic and excited about our future. Thank you all so much for your continued support. Sincerely, Adam and Tyler
