1. independence day (1996) - listen, there’s something about that scene were everything gets destroys that is so!!!! you know? and then whitmore‘s iconic speech??? it’s an ok movie, but it’s also ya, a group of people can get their shit together to save the world.
2. one small hitch (2013) - it’s an instant classic trope of fake dating. the leads also have chemistry. would have love a little more of the family, but it’s still really good.
3. final destination (2000) - listen, there’s something about having this movie playing in the background knowing what’s going to happen is comforting. idky, predictability???
4. the mummy & the mummy returns (1999 & 2001) - no notes, absolutely will continue to watch over and over and over. (to me they go together)
5. selena (1997) - is it accurate, you ask. absolutely the fuck not. but does the final scene make me miserable resulting in me listening to all of her discography? yes, she was a great singer and a legend to this day. also the dad is an asshole, i hold a grudge.
6. rogue one (2016) - the only star wars movie i keep coming back to *check notes* cry. is it comfort if they all die? idk, but i enjoy watching it. again it’s a group of people coming together to save the day... what does that say about me???
7. twister (1996) - something something people coming together to save something... some of it did not age well or makes sense. but again, people coming together to do fake science to get a quicker warning system against tornado(s)? ya, i’ll let myself out.
maybe, i just like people coming together to save other people??? im baffled by this list that i made...
