my preferred characterization is actually annabeth being team captain of the "percy is so smart and clever if that shit even matters" gang and it takes her NO revelations to conclude that bc THEY HAVE BEEN BEST FRIENDS SINCE THEY WERE THIRTEEN. and like yeah he probably has hella impostor syndrome going into college as a nd/disabled poc kid who struggled with school/money (which would've been an awesome arc to go into for both younger fans and the aging fandom...) but annabeth is wise enough to have seen those struggles coming and she would've been the FIRST person to disarm those insecurities or correct people doubling down on them jfc
The montage in the credits of Deadpool and Wolverine made the whole film feel like a love letter to all the shit Fox films.
The movies that were never as well received as the mcu films. The films that were rebooted and then rebooted again. Deadpool 3 feels like an ode to the films that were guilty pleasures, never mainstream successes.
It was like they were saying “yes, they were a little shit, but we had fun, right?”

Rumi slunk into the back corner of the late-night restaurant with a groan. The day had been lousy, filled with missteps and frustration, and it seemed she wasn't alone in that experience. A table filled with people grumbling about work, another with a lone, quiet drunk—but what caught her eye was a (distractingly handsome) young man furiously writing, crossing out, and writing again while his free hand tapped a rhythm into the tabletop. She cracked a sympathetic smile, recognizing the look from Zoey.
The man took a sip of his drink. Looking thoughtful, he murmured, "My little soda pop…"
