Yo! Since we’ve got some earnest newbies (affectionate) here’s a quick PSA about tags:

Tags can be expressive! so copying someone else’s tags exactly is a bit weird.

Of course they are useful organizational tools—absolutely copy common tags, for sure!

but people also use them to express themselves in a less permanent way—i.e. saying something that doesn’t necessarily need to exist as a comment or a reblog.

So mindlessly copying custom, expressive tags? it cringe.

no shade to anyone who has ❤️ but I’d rather read your thoughts than see my own parroted back at me.

TAGS PSA

Hey, the Pikamun here. Tags are one of the most important things in here on tumblr, they are not there for decoration, they are not there to be ignored, they are there to be read! The ONLY people who have the right to ignore certain tags are people with triggers and naturally have their personal triggers blacklisted. But when a tag says quite clearly to not reblog the post YOU DON'T REBLOG IT, people have their reasons to add the tags they use. All in all please read the tags, especially when they are more personal posts.
