"Oh, I'm not gonna have a repeat of February's piece, I'm gonna start this one wayyyyyy before my birthday, so I can slowly work on it with plenty of time and care!" -Me, starting a piece I ended up hating and scrapping, before starting this one. I guess I never learn...

Still! I had a ton of fun with this one! It's my most complex and ambitious piece yet and, somehow, I kinda just managed to.... flow state my way through this. Coloring went smoothly, lineart did too- even the background, after some experimenting, sweating and only a tiny urge to cry, wasn't that bad once I settled on a look. Sketching took... 10 days! And the lineart, coloring, rendering and background took... four. I considered doing colored lineart, like the last piece- wow, my last real piece was 4 months ago- but... look at all these colors and subjects LOL, maybe if I'm bored I'll take a swing at coloring these lines later.

Yikes!

I'm just glad I finally made a piece that wasn't just humans- drawing Pokemon is really fun!

I will now return to my slumber. For another 4 months...?

Wet Paint

I went through, like, 5 different versions of this trying out different compositions, then color renders but I just couldn't get it to look right. Eventually I figured it out by going full monochrome and slowly adding colors back in. Also I accidentally merged all layers at some point while playing with bloom effects and didn't realize until it was too late to undo or restore a previous save. Oops :') Had to cut everything out and clean up every edge after that. :'D

I'm pretty happy with how it turned out

Forgot to mention in my previous fanart of Meowscarada that it was my first time drawing Meowscarada! 🐱 Since Sprigatito had just only evolved recently at that time. I think I prefer my previous first-time Meowscarada fanart. I might edit the description of said fanart.

📕📖 Scarlet Violet Play Log 8: 📚

Wasn’t drawing with this in mind, but since this is a forest, it reminds me of how I met Zorua at Tagtree Thicket. I couldn’t find Zorua everywhere I looked back then.

Then, when I was just zooming around on Koraidon, I stepped on something which was in a bush, and a Pokemon battle ensued. The bush had obscured the mystery Pokemon, but when the fight started, the Pokemon was pulled into some visible view.

It was… Zorua! Who was disguising as another Pokemon (not sure which Pokemon, because Zorua was hidden in the bush) but revealed his true form when the battle began.

And that was how I met Zorua. 🦊
