The KIWA exhibition in Takanabe!
From April 7 to May 6, 2012, the 6th KIWA Exhibition will be held in the Takanabe City Museum, down in Kyushu. While the Kyoto exhibition consisted of 300 works, the tour version will have a little over 150 of the very best. The Takanabe Museum is a beautiful building combining both Western and Japanese architecture. This will be the third time for KIWA to travel to Kyushu, and will be held much longer than in Kyoto. Unfortunately, the woodblock printed kites will not be in the exhibition because they had to be returned quickly to Seattle for an all-kite show there. If you are in the vacanity and have a free afternoon, do stop by the museum and see the KIWA Exhibition and then take a look at the Permanent Collection. Both are well worth the visit.
