After being hunted by witches for about 70 years, Ariana Salvatore thinks its time to go back to her home town : Mystic Falls. She knew Mystic Falls had now become the most easiest place for vampires to target humans, like they're own personal buffet. And besides, all the poor girl could get was the same bad blood bags from the hospital or deer and rabbit blood. It made her weak. Mystic falls was the perfect place for a little snack. There was a silver Ford behind her as she approached the border. Arianna looked at her right side view mirror.

A young man, late 20's, his blood practically shouting her name. She crossed the border as well as the Ford, but then she stopped and got out of the car. The guy got out of his too. "Hi, sorry my brakes aren't working, I was wondering if you could check it out for me, I don't really know how to fix car stuff" She fakes chuckles. The guy instantly smirks eyeing her and up and down, taking in the curves of her hips. He has no idea what fate has in store for him."Yea of course let me look" He says, walking up to you and the car.

Arianna stops him mid-way, pressing her hand on his chest a bit too hard. "Don't move and don't scream." She demands him, her pupils shrinking when she gave the order, compelling him. The guy nods and veins start forming under her now red eyes, her teeth showing and getting sharper. She digs her teeth into his neck, blood dripping from his neck. She sucks every ounce of blood he has. Let's just say she might have gotten a little carried away. Eventually his heart slowed and his pulse stopped as he fell to the floor.

"Oops, my bad" She laughs, On the other side there's a lake, she looks between the body and drags the body to the lake and dumps him there. "Sorry buddy" She groans, wiping the blood off with the back of her hand. To her right she sees a familiar face walking slightly to her. "Katherine??" She asks, clueless, eyeing her up and down. "No my name is Elena, God why does everyone keep calling me that" She chuckles softly. She starts walking closer to Arianna, there is literally no fear behind this so called Elena's eyes.

Using her vampire speed, she gets in Elena's face and looks at her in the eye. "You'll forget this interaction happened-" Elena laughs. "I can't be compelled I'm wearing vervain." Arianna's eyebrows scrunch up together. She looks down at her necklace. God why does it looks so familiar. She knew that was where the vervain was stored. Then she felt it, a presence. Danger to others, home to her. Arianna sighs and then turns to looks behind her.

"Hello, brother." She says. There he is, the one and only Damon Salvatore, who's leaning casually on Arianna's car. "Miss me Ari?" He asks teasingly. Arianna rolled her eyes instantly. "Not even a little." He rolled his eyes but held his arms out. In one blink of an eye, she hugs Damon, the moment feeling soft and safe. Damon pulls back a little to see her face. "You really are the worst younger sister out there." She scoffed. "And you're the most selfish older brother out there." He shrugs, he knew he deserved that. "You really know how to be discreet huh." He warns, reminding her of the body.

"Oh give me a break, I was hungry and at least I dumped the body." He laughs at her snappy attitude. Elena was still standing there, watching this like it was some kind of fever dream. Damon saw her look. "Relax Elena, If she wanted you dead, you'd already be at the bottom of the lake, she gets it from me, her favourite sibling." He mocks. Arianna gives him a mock disgusted look. "Excuse me" A voice came from behind. Stefan. Arianna sighed softly in relief, he stood there tense, concerned, very much in his "I'm trying to be the good one." era.

His eyes landed on her. "...You're back" Arianna groaned. "C'mon can you at least act like you're happy to see me?" Stefan smiles and hugs her, she knows it's genuine. "I missed you" He admits. "Ok I am so confused right now." Elena says. "Figure it out" "She's our younger sister" They all say the same time. Arianna scoffed while Damon smirked. "Cmon, troublemaker, let's go home" Damon said softly.

i actually kind of love that damon and stefan choose to live together in the boarding house. these are two grown men, beyond grown actually, and they can go wherever they want, use compulsion and money to find a new complex to reside in, and they just don’t.

in the first half of s1 it’s very obvious that damon stays in the boarding house to needle stefan, but stefan can go! he literally has no obligation to stay. on top of that, their “uncle” zach is killed in 1x05 so the excuse that stefan is staying to protect uncle zach can’t work anymore. and even worse in 1x08 when damon kills lexi, stefan is still living in the boarding house. or 2x01 when damon learns that katherine never cared for him and she always loved stefan, damon still doesn’t go. he just learned the woman he loved never cared for him and on top of that she’s in love with his brother. and the examples go on.

time and time again, stefan and damon have several reasons and opportunities to just not stay in the same house together but still do. they’re both just staying there because their brother is there lmao. it’s cute.

a short defence of incest shipping:

psychology BA (and future psychologist most likely) here! also an incest shipper! my very valid and scientific theory for why we ship incest is that we desire a love where we could never ever be left by the other because we're connected in more ways than romantic. it's very similar than the soulmate trope but for people who like a bit of spice (i don't mean smut here btw). in the soulmate trope you're thrust together with someone new, the incest trope has more of a friends to lovers vibe. the idea of strangers meetcute falling in love is very Straight and Neurotypical, friends or enemies or siblings first offers a less conventional story structure. the incest trope also deals with shame. a lot of people have shame about love and sex! especially religious people and queer people. incest is a metaphor!!! it's not about wanting to fuck your literal family! it's just about liking a strong bond. what we ship does say something of us but it's not usually the most straightforward explanation. also, this is just my theory, there are probably more reasons for liking incest ships. but i beg, BEG antis to look beneath the surface when screaming about brotherfucking pro shippers.
