this is going to sound insane but if I am interested in reading a wx fic, I actually ctrl+f "yao" to see if the fic writer has opted to write jgy/my in a shitty light before I decide to read it.

I also cant trust ongoing wx fics bc I have gotten myself burned by those too (one of them was like 50 chapters in and boring ass watered down bad jgy was revealed as a first time mention as the big bad and it... sucked!). this has happened so many times where I'm enjoying a wx fic and then get slammed in the head with bargain bin villain jgy (not even a villain in a cool or nuanced way) with ZERO narrative or tagged warning. bc some folks prob assume their shit jgy take is the accepted canon interpretation of jgy and therefore why tag it at all? gives me trust issues man...

anyway I swear I do like the main couple but sometimes ... sometimes it just sucks when the bad faith takes on jgy seeps into a lot of fanworks. it isnt unique to wx fics obviously but since they Are the main couple with the most fan content, the chances of it happening are relatively higher just bc of how numbers work. it is also frustrating bc a difference in fandom opinions is such a non-issue that it feels silly to be even a tiny bit salty about it. 🤡
