She wasn’t shaken in the slightest by the octopus’ demeanor. She’d been alive far too long to care about anyone trying to intimidate her. Her usual smile dropped slightly—a very uncharacteristically terrifying sign to anyone that knew her well. Thankfully she was rather patient, the irritation in her voice not yet fully evident.

 Undeniably, there’s always a linger of betrayal and fury over those who chose to left. It’s not something he could fully understand himself as his dedication to the world below never wavered no matter the temptations of the sunlight. Unlike the changing world around him he doubt he could ever trust inklings as a whole ever again. He would not tire himself berating the former soldier, it was just worth it in his eyes. It seemed like he wasn’t going to say anything, nothing other than one sentence.

“It definitely was.” She allowed herself to smile at him. “Coexisting with the Inklings… It’s such a liberating feeling. It wasn’t as pleasant at first, since I was lying about my species in fear that I would be chased back to Octo Canyon… When they found out, though, my new friends were so supportive. I think the old prejudices have finally broken down.” “Even during the recent Squid vs. Octopus Splatfest, from what I observed, almost everyone was sharing messages of support and friendship with the other team,” she elaborated. “Those who were truly bitter were few and far in between. The tides have changed, Octavio. We no longer have to hide in the shadows – I think it’s time we come out into the light.” Of course, you’d have to promise to stop stealing the Great Zapfish,” she added. “A small price to pay for peace, really.”
