the tal symbiont (disco spoilers):
wrote a tag in a queued post and realised while writing it: obviously adira and gray are trans independently of “all joined trill are trans allegories”
but - the the tal symbiont specifically is like. trans-ception.
firstly through the usual “lifetimes and genders + genderless worm = ??? gender” but then secondly through “some of these lifetimes are also transitioning within their own single lifespans,” which we’re going to presumably actually see with adira’s storyline (seeing as it’s been written to mirror how blue del barrio felt during filming, which I’m glad that respect was there for them)
depending on when gray got the worm, he might’ve already transitioned, so the tal symbiont was like “I want that one, because I want a transition within a transition, hell yeah!”
and now it’s like “okay new person, who dis- OH YOU’RE TRANSITIONING RIGHT NOW, NEAT YOU FUNKY HOST YOU!!!”
and that’s not even taking into account that tal has transitioned into a human host, I just
tl;dr the tal symbiont is trans by trill symbiont standards.
