Because while cold temporarily relieved some pain and would’ve helped with bruising, it also has brought a discomfort to your soft tissue and now blood is trying to remedy it by rushing to that area like ‘oh, I’m gonna come and make it all warm, baby!’. So now you need some anesthetic and some gel (like troxevasin) to help further. If that doesn’t help, go to a trauma doctor, you make have a fracture :(
Would a fracture hurt less or worse than a broken bone? Because I can walk fine and it won’t hurt (I haven’t had to stand longer than 30 minutes on it yet so maybe that will change), there’s just bruising and little swelling
