I forgot I couldn't decide on Strigine's lvl 90 talent tree dealie. She's been running around without it this whole time!
*stares at talent trees*
....
Whelp. Still can't decide. Okie dokie then.
How the Mists of Pandaria Talent system could be beneficial to future gaming.
So I just thought of a great use for the talent system that Mists of Pandaria implemented. A game could use the various talent systems we've seen as part of a difficulty modifier. Beginner gives you MoP talent system, easy gives you Diablo 3 where it is broad sweeps, like Mists, but customization with slight alterations to each skill as you go. Medium would be like Cataclysm with picking one tree and focusing there until you get near the end and Hard would be "all trees are open" so you can choose as you will with all the micro management. You could always make Expert give you more points or more options per tree if you wanted or just keep it like hard and make the rest of the game more difficult. Just thought of it and thought some of you would like the idea.
I hope you guys like the idea, if you want it seen and considered spread this around. I think it would be fun to see tried at least once but I don't have the knowledge to do so.
Juggernaut: am I doing it wrong?
So I was playing last night with a friend playing a Sniper Agent, his tank companion Kaliyo, and me as a Jugg with Vette. Was a little upset last night when my Juggernaut did less damage than any of the other three and Kaliyo kept better hate than me. :/ I know I'm 18 and I just started to get my bread-and-butters (tank stance came with the AC, but taunt didn't come till 16? what is this), so I'm wondering if I'm just at an awkward duckling stage of the class where it has the beginning tank abilities and you're starting to be expected to take on a role, but not the support that makes them work and keeps you up. Because I was dying a lot last night (seriously, how was the one party member in heavy armor the one being torn through like a wet paper bag?!), and I wasn't really taking down anything solo because everyone else's DPS owned mine, and I felt like the Most Useless Thing Ever. I can't tell if this is the class at this level, or if it's me being new to MMOs.
(It would also help if I decided what role I was going for. I kind of want to spec into a DPS tree like Vengeance, because I spend a lot of my time doing leveling stuff with just me and my companion, and everyone loves killing things fast. But whenever I do flashpoints with my guild, I feel like I ought to be tanking, because all the other people who rolled Sith Warrior rolled Marauders and the Bounty Hunter went Mercenary, so I'm really the only one who can. Except this is my first MMO so yeah I have no idea wtf I am doing. And no idea how to make a nice Immortal-tree build. And I still want to be able to actually lay out some damage because even if I keep others alive there's something visceral about going "yep I killed that" and I don't know if tanking will satisfy me. And- but I should not continue with my rants as I don't want to piss off my guild.)
So uh yeah, skill trees, I suck at them. Anyone have a good plan for Immortal that will still do okay DPS or have a hybrid build that can take more damage than a straight Vengeance or Rage 31-pointer but can still dish some out?
