There once was a tiny red mushroom named Helga. She was so red, redder than the reddest ripe strawberry. She was so small that no one ever heard her. Everyday she wanted to be seen and heard but all the other mushrooms in Mushroom Land were much bigger and smarter and had much busier things to do besides listening to such a small mushroom. You see, Mushroom Land was a land where what you DID mattered. There were mushroom goals, and agendas, places to be and people to see. Life moved so fast. The things Helga cared about seemed different than what the other mushrooms cared about. She cared about the color of the sky and the way the breeze felt on her teeny tiny cap. She wondered how many birds she might gaze upon that day and imagined what it would feel like to fly. She made up new melodies in her head and dreamed of things like a fresh rainfall and appreciated the morning sunrise. Moral of the story: Be like Helga. 🌲 A story titled: Hello My Name is Helga, from my upcoming cookbook! Fact: Adults can enjoy fairytales too. #SixDays #TalesFromAForagersKitchen #AdultFairytales
This piece of my heart in cookbook form comes out to the world in less than 10 days officially on May 15! I am so thrilled and to be honest, so nervous and mostly excited for you to see it all! Whether you enjoy following recipes or not, a copy of it is sure to bring curiosity and wonder to your home. A gentle reminder to think outside the box when it comes to ingredients, to keep seeking spontaneity and wonderment and additionally offers a tangible way to have a deeper connection to the earth. From very simple recipes that absolutely anyone can do, to more time invested ones that feel so good to make. Some of my favorite recipes like Honey Pies Through the Seasons, Dark Chocolate Dipped Fungi, Spicy Ginger Trail Mix, Sunflower Blush Dressing, Forest Croissants, Woodland Chai, a Champagne Cocktail, Wild Mushroom Stew, Braided Bread, Deep Dark Venison Chili, Turmeric Meadowsweet Soup and a whole lot of stories I’ve never really shared before to go with each of those. More than 80 wild and free recipes and so many beautiful and curious illustrations by Max throughout each chapter. It’s a great day to get it for yourself or someone else to gift away!🌲 #TalesFromAForagersKitchen
It was such a beautiful evening for the first book signing and celebration! It felt incredibly special to me and thank you for having me @TheFoundryHomeGoods in your magical space. Next up is San Francisco in June, Upstate New York in July, a few more places to plan and some fun story-times and hikes in between! Feeling so thankful! #TalesFromAForagersKitchen
Tomorrow! #TalesFromAForagersKitchen (🙂😅😭😬)
The roasted sage sinks into the chopped mushrooms and then it all gets a little fuzzy when you don’t quite know where the brussels sprouts begin and the bacon ends... mmm. 🌿 #TalesFromAForagersKitchen
Snow and seventeen whole degrees of warmth. 🍄🌲❄️ #TalesFromAForagersKitchen #Cookbook #GrandmaSweater #Yas
I made this for Minoux's birthday not too long ago and dreaming of it so bad again today. Two big baked down Cinderella pumpkins, grass fed butter, coconut milk or almond milk, bone broth, onions, nutmeg, heavy cinnamon, maple syrup from our trees, chopped sage from the garden because it was one of the only herbs that actually grew well, topped with baked and slightly crisped chunks of bacon and tiny slivers of chopped jalapeño. If I wasn't so pregnant, I'd host a Fall pumpkin soup party. 🍁#TalesFromAForagersKitchen #Hungry #Cravings #BakedPumpkinSoup #BabyWants #FoodOnMyMindLately
