Sangre de Cristo Hoops - Sterling Silver

Inspired by a personal pair I created for myself, these are some of my favorite recent jewelry designs.

Beautiful Earth tones with a striking white vintage Talhakimt glass pendant drop, makes these earrings truly special. Created with sterling silver wire and adorned with Ethiopian prayer beads and African snake vertebrae. These pieces are lightweight and very lovely.

Perfect to wear as weights in stretched ears or through tunnels - not too heavy to where they will hurt your ear lobes.

Muted color tones pair with any ensemble. Earrings are 14g (1.6mm) Hoops: 2” x 2”

　 Tanfouk、またはTalhakimtと言います。 タンフォークは、わかる。 Talhakimt・・・タアキムット？タラキムット？読めましぇん。＞＜ これです。

　

　 グーグルマップの位置マークみたいです。 この緑と赤はティピカルな色です。 ガラスでできています。 薄汚れて見えますが、そんなことはありませんっ！これで普通。

　 アフリカのマリ、ナイジェリア、アルジェリア、リビアにまたがって遊牧するトゥアレグのモチーフです。 髪飾りに用いられたそうです。魔除けのお守りです。 19世紀ごろ、この形はインドに伝わり、 さらにドイツ、フランス、チェコがこれに倣ってガラス製のものをトレード用に制作したそうです。 えらく遠回りしています。

These distinctive Tuareg Pyramidal Charm amulets are in the symbolic shape related to as Talhakimt. They are found across Islamic Africa, in particular among the nomadic Tuareg-Berber peoples of Niger, Mali and Algeria. They possibly derive from Indian agate finger rings or even archer's thumb rings. The pyramidal shape is also related to Tuareg Cross amulets.
