what is having a cat like? I’m a dog person but I’ve been considering getting a kitten

It’s fun! i mean I’m both a dog and cat person, just grew up more with cats. Honestly they’re a lot of fun and do their own thing and fairly low maintenence. Mine’s super affectionate but doesn’t like to be held. So if you’re considering and doing researcing, look at the ones that are known to love being held vs. not liking it; lap cats, if they shed a lot, which breeds have a short vs. life expectancy, prone to various health problems (ie: respiratory) etc. They have their own personalities and like to do weird things, knead on soft materials, use a lot of surfaces as scratching posts🥴, and eat human food.  Cats have no sense of personal space lmaaaoo and will sit on your stuff such as papers, your purse, backpack, will walk on your computer while you’re using it. My cat is attached to my hip and will follow me anywhere and will sit where I sit and loves to be pet. When I leave, she misses me like I left for a long time by the time I come back lol. Some like to bring “gifts” if you let them outside.  Overall they’re companions who show lots of love. If you do have a dog already, a kitten may be a great companion for them! Also, if you do decide to get one I’d love to see a pic!
