Let's talk about it.... So my biggest struggle use to be the fitting room. I would try on cloths and make disgusting faces at myself. But I am a overcomer... YOU are a overcomer. WE are overcomers..... the fitting room is not longer my enemy. I flaunt my thickness. I jump image hurdles. What have you OVERCOME ? #talkaboutittuesday #confidence #selfworth #morethanconquerors #thewholequarter
We all know how I feel about trends and jumping on band wagons lol the braids and beads trend has taken over our IG timelines and I haven't seen anything more refreshing, authentic, edgy, rad, and culturally inspiring such as @hazzymapipa Before I got my hair done I said let's do Braids but wait everyone and these braids and beads ahhh 😩😩🙄 so we crocheted my scalp instead 😂😂🤓. But now this gem with an undercut and bold self expression has given me life on this #TalkAboutItTuesday . . . . #inspo #braids #culture #protectivestyles #naturalhair #Africa #beauty #love #style #authentic #gem #unconventional #blackhair #beyouty #undercut #thecutlife
The greatest influence I’ve had over one of my COD headcanons is a scene from “The Secret Life of Bees.” The rest below the cut because it can be triggering so
Tw gun violence, child death, death
At the beginning of the book, the main character’s parents are arguing, and the 2 year old MC finds a gun and accidentally fires it, killing her mother.
This scene influenced a massive part of my HC for Adler’s life. After his marriage, which was extremely rough and neither really loved each other, they were in it for the money, Adler ran off to fight in the Korean War, then returned. He and his wife then decided to have a baby, which became the best part of their life and helped them build up a good relationship. Adler was especially good to the child, eagerly taking on a good portion of caring for the child, which was highly unorthodox for a man in the 50s.
However that all came to an end too short when Adler left his service pistol out. The mother wasn’t home, having been out with some friends, but Adler was, and though he never saw it happen, he was in the next room when the child shot himself by accident.
After that, Adler and his wife fell apart that eventually lead to a divorce. Adler often thinks back to the moment, wondering if he could have done things different.
