i really need people to get a grip and accept that their reading is not The One True Interpretation™️ and acting as if anyone who disagrees is a cishet who doesn't understand what it's like to be trans/nb.
all that does is alienate trans/nb/queer people like me. i don't have a gender. i like to call myself "gender non-applicable." i NEED that completely separated from my presentation and expression, because my personal tastes are HEAVILY stereotypically feminine, maybe even hyperfeminine, and the conflation of that with womanhood and being a woman or affecting my gender in any way makes me severely dysphoric and has resulted in a long and difficult journey to acceptance. and now i see other trans/nb people touting this—gatekeeping, excluding.
can you not understand why i would not personally want to read gender into something? or am i not "trans enough" for you, because i don't engage with my identity in the same specific way? because my lens of interpretation is different?
i don't know. i just wish people would stop lumping in other queer people who disagree with them (all of whom, at least as far as i've seen, are also people of color, might i add) into some evil cishet monolith they've created in their heads.
