Oltre il Vecchio Bordo

Ho trascorso le ultime settimane a Borgo Vecchio, vivendo momenti di gioia, commozione, paura, solititudine ed ho pensato spesso di andare a vivere in quel luogo così inclusivo. Si, perché nonostante le “distanze” tra chi è dentro e chi è fuori da quei limiti, se conosci il quartiere e lo frequenti ne diventi parte integrante. Per me è stato un rifugio, che mi ha curato, consolato e dato una visione altra della vita. A volte però resti imbrigliato dentro maglie troppo strette, soffocanti, cerchi di fuggire, scappare e dall’interno hai l’impressione che non riuscirai più a superare quel vecchio bordo tra te e il resto di Palermo.

Durante le riprese del documentario abbiamo chiesto, fuori dal quartiere, di descriverci Borgo Vecchio, una delle risposte è stata questa:

Se posteggi l’auto, “non è che non trovi la macchina, manco il pavimento trovi!”.

Ovviamente non tutte le risposte erano cosi radicali e radicate ma sicuramente non sono così lontane da questa visione.

Borgo Vecchio è ancora da scoprire ma non da colonizzare. Ha i suoi ritmi, le sue dinamiche, la sua comunità. Il quartiere ha ancora molto da nascondere e da non mostrare. Borgo Vecchio fortunatamente fa ancora paura, questo permetterà una lenta e graduale apertura che potrebbe servire a non snaturarne i suoi principi, la sua identità.

È importante però, per chi abita il quartiere, scrutare oltre il “bordo” perché ciò può restituire un altro da sé irrinunciabile e fondamentale per la propria vita.

Organizzazione di eventi di inclusione sociale in cui “inconsapevolmente” esterno ed interno si ritrovino a dialogare ed a confrontarsi.

I bambini di Borgo Vecchio devono arrivare a scorgere quei raggi. Molti dei palazzi del quartiere hanno la possibilità, nelle loro terrazze, di accogliere delle attività. Per guardare il mare, le montagne ed il resto della città. Per dar loro un’idea di oltre.
