Sliding a bit under the radar, Owsey has been making music and remixes for quite a few years and you can grab his works for free! He recently released a new album via IndieGoGo and it is a true gem for headphone listening.
Residing in Ireland, He was most challenged in completing this album by the lack of time to fully pursue it. Independent artists have to delegate their precious time. Due to his various life commitments and obligations, finding a spare moment to create was often a challenge. There are certain factors that could have been improved upon if I’d had access to certain musical equipment. And yet, he is pleased with his product. It was a personal project that he prefers others to take what they perceive and feel.
His work can definitely be your soundtrack to wind down. My favorite track is: Forgotten by Mankind, You Remain Only In My Mind

#TuesdayTunes :: “Sunwarper” by Selles

Meet Michael Jakus otherwise know as The Stars Above. A creative resident of LA has created and released another LP under his side project Selles. Following up the debut LP “We Were Giants”, he has devised an album of haunting melodies that dares to journey deeper into the subconscious. Taking two years, influenced by Tycho, Boards of Canada and Eluvium, he set out to compose songs filled with ghostly synths, warped guitars, booming bass, and field recordings teeming underneath the electronic surface.
Underneath this project is his channelling of experience working as a private investigator. Witnessing the dark side of humanity, he uses his medium of synthesizers and guitars to illustrate the range of thought of working in that environment. It wasn’t a walk in the park as he states “I think trying to convey a message without lyrics was a challengeI tried to keep a narrative but also leave it open ended for interpretation.”
