Campaign For Brenda (Tumblr user Taluhkk)
My friend Brenda is a college student who, earlier this Spring, tried to go on an abroad trip to Amsterdam in order to enrich her worldview and learn more about the Visual Arts Program in her major (all the while achieving extra summer credits for her degree).
She applied for a merit-based scholarship for the study abroad program, and with nearly perfect Straight A's, she felt pretty confident. The college stated that they had up to $100,000 to give out, so her confidence seemed extra justified. And she ended up getting the scholarship. However, she ended up only getting enough to cover barely 1/3 of the total cost.
She went to withdraw from the study abroad program immediately, however was unable to withdraw from the program since they already paid for all of her trip expenses (without notifying her first).
So now Brenda is stuck going on the trip regardless of her ability to pay, and is now $3800 in debt...
Heyo, everyone! This is a donation campaign for my buddy and fellow Trek Fanartist @taluhkk who’s fallen into some unfortunate circumstances. SO, I decided to start this YouCaring Campaign for her!
