Alright... Looks like I have a bit of a confession to make...
I don't really know who would care enough to read this, but anyway...
I'm a sunni muslim. I've been born and raised under the teachings of Islam for my whole life. Many of you probably already suspected I was a muslim, because I'm from Pakistan and that's a muslim-majority country. The reason for my hiatus within early 2025 was due to the fact I was taking a break for Ramadan (if you are confused as to what that is, its considered a holy month for muslims)
some possible FAQs:
"Do you wear the hijab?"
Yeah, I actually do. I started wearing it last year, and NO, MY FATHER DID NOT THREATEN TO BEAT ME WITH A STICK IF I DIDN'T WEAR IT, I chose to. It's only a choice for the wearer to make and if somebody forces another person to do it, they are a sinner (as they are forcing what is religiously encouraged upon somebody, when they haven't made the decision).
"What branch of Islam do you follow?"
I already said this, sorry. I follow the sunni branch. It's the most common one.
"Do you regret wearing the hijab?"
No, I feel much more comfortable with wearing more modest clothing, and I have gotten closer to my religion as well!
"So... Is it true you can't date?"
Yeah, it actually is. Any kind of sexual relationship outside of marriage is strictly prohibited. And besides, I don't really feel attracted to anybody and I genuinely don't want to be in a relationship with someone right now.
"Do you have to wear the hijab all the time?"
No, I only have to wear it in front of any man who isn't immediate family, when I am praying and when I'm going to the masjid. I (obviously) take it off for showers and sleeping, and I don't HAVE to wear it front of women.
"Is it true that you fast for a whole month?"
Yes. For Ramadan, I choose to wake up for suhoor (which is a meal before sunrise). After it is time for Fajr/Dawn prayer, I cannot eat or drink ANYTHING from sunrise to sunset. I finally get to eat food and drink during a meal called iftar. After Maghrib prayer time, I get the chance to break my fast and I can eat what I like afterwards till Fajr time for the next day.
Please know my blog will always be a safe space for everybody, except those on my DNI list!! I respect all people, regardless of religion, culture, nationality, disabilities, etc.
...If any of you are personally offended by the fact that I've decided to speak about my religious identity, the door is literally right there, why don't you just walk out of it? I don't want to hear anything from you, anyway.
