It’s done!

Pattern: Tamarack Jacket from Grainline Studio

Modifications: Back quilt block, cropped and adjusted for a less boxy fit, added collar and cuffs. Thanks to the snaps it’s fully reversible! (as long as you don’t mind the pockets on the inside)

For that extra bit of nerdery, the label is from @sawdustbear ‘s Space Hobo Code. A common greeting, taken from a Walt Whitman poem - "every atom belonging to me as good belongs to you."

The jacket saga continues! All the pieces have been quilted, so the next step is sewing everything together and finishing off the inside seams with bias tape. The bias tape was a leftover from a previous project - there was just enough to cover all the seams!

After this we move into uncharted territory: adding a collar and cuffs.

Got a sidetracked on this one for a bit because of the pockets - there were some logistical things to sort out since I’d adjusted length of the jacket and also welt pockets are intimidating. But they’re done now and I’m really happy with them! It’s full speed ahead now with the quilting - and then on to assembly!

I’m still debating adding a hood. Pros: hood. Cons: might cover up back of the jacket.
