Our Favorite Con Memories: Tama
My con adventure started Thursday. In the staff room that night eating some good food, one of the VA guests (Darrel Guilbeau) popped in to say hi. He looked at the program guides that had just arrived and noticed a Magi panel on Sunday, got really excited, and said he wanted to join it. I told him that was the panel my friends will be hosting and got just as excited as he did. He swore me to secrecy.
Friday was our panel about us. We shared a few stories and talked about ourselves, but the parts I really liked were when you all did the talking. It was... amazing to hear the things you had to say about us and our events. It really served as a reminder/eyeopener to us that even the simplest compliment or act of kindness may be small to us, but it could mean the world to someone else. Maybe you’re someone who as never heard the words, “you’re beautiful” before, and then we say it (and mean it).
I’ll be the first to admit that I have a terrible memory and I don’t remember every person or thing I say. It makes describing the feeling I had hearing all of you tell us about what we did to make you smile that much more difficult. It’s so humbling and just amazing.
Saturday, haaaaaaa death, was a lot of busy chaos fun. Probably my favorite thing from Saturday was having the mini selfie shoot on stage when I hosted the Cosplay Contest. Being in charge of both it and the Ouran events is a lot for me so it was quite refreshing for me to take a moment to be myself and just take a few selfies. Plus, they serve as proof that I actually did it! Standing on stage in front of a huge room filled with people is something that i never thought I’d be able to do.
Sunday’s best moment for me would be when Sage brought the tandem bike. It was so magical to see Nozaki and Sakura ride off together.
