The Tamboored Sweater Design
Part 2/3: Because I don't want to make a never-ending textpost, I'll split this story into two or three parts (most likely three). I hope you won't hold it against me
Let's ignore our sweater, this is the story of how I got bribes with 10 kebab boxes.
So, the other group spent an entire day practicing their split stitches, and my brain was like – hold up, you are gonna do this on a knitted fabric, right? right? and then I decided to bring a crochet hook because I was convinced it would take so much less time and be so much easier to tamboor the damn thing.
So, the next day I introduced the boy group to the noble art of tambooring and the spent four hours trying to get the hang of it. Mind you, they came asking for help and it was so nice getting a distraction from our own product.
They made the first "line" of one of their designs, and then the afternoon came around and their group, a friend of mine, a couple of people from other groups, our teacher, and I sat around chatting.
Somehow the talked turned to their project, and my teacher were like, have you tried bribing E. to do it?
And they were like, nooo???
And she was like, I'm sure it would be both faster and look better.
And they were like, would you do it?
And I was like, try bribing me and I'll tell you
And my teacher was like, I'm going to go out for a bit – I don't know anything
And they were like, how much do you want?
And I was like, try something eatsble
And suddenly everyone was invested in getting me the best bargain. And we ended with like 10 kebab boxes. And then I asked them to give me their designs so I could embroider it for them. and they handed me one of their two designs. and I told them that they had to give me both of them or else it would be damn hard to finish it, you know?
And for a moment they looked at me real strange because they had thought I would only do the one. and then they realised, I would do both they looked as happy as cattle when they are put on grass in the early spring. and it was amazing
And I spent like two hours tambooring there designs after they sent me the sketches and told me which colours went where
