Description

Miriam (or Mary), sister of Moses and Aaron, sang a song of praise to God after the people of Israel achieved their freedom from the Pharaoh's army being submerged in the Red Sea . The rest of the women joined her with tambourines and dancing ( Exodus 15:20-21).

Mary appears in the center, playing a drum and directing her prayers to the Lord. Surrounding her, arranged in an oval, is the choir of women who accompany her with their music, songs, and dances.
