Bible John: A Forensic Meditation
In 1991 Grant Morrison and Daniel Vallely did this story for an anthology called Crisis (it appeared in issues #56 - 61).
Immediate comparisons of course can be drawn to Alan Moore & Eddie Campbell's From Hell (which was serialized in Taboo starting in 1991 as well). Now I haven't read this yet due to it's scarcity, but I have tracked down a copy of it. Chances are I will post something after I have read it. From what I can see this is done in a painted collage style (similar to what Dave McKean did in Arkham Asylum), and I am always interested in reading something from Grant Morrison's early period.
Rumor has it that the process (and story) took such a toll on Daniel Vallely that he destroyed all the artwork, and there is apparently little chance of it ever being reprinted.

Wikipedia has a small entry that also links to a more thorough article on there as well. Fascinating stuff. Not quite as fascinating as From Hell, but that is more likely due to the "popularity" of the subject.
