In a Dogon city, on the sandstone cliffs of Bandiagara, the streets have no name, but each door tells a story. They are used to describe the occupation of a person or a person’s status in the village. The symbols on the doors can vary. Pairs of breasts, represent femininity and fertility. Village dancers wearing the famed rabbit eared Walu mask or the tall Kanaga headdress typically underline the bottom of the door.
