Introduction

Hi! I’m a genetics enthusiast and specialize in researching animal color genetics! I’m by no means an expert, so while I do my best to correctly identify colors, I may be wrong!

You can submit photos of any dog, cat, horse, donkey, rabbit, or pigeon to identify its visible color (phenotype) and possible genotype! Tag me in posts, submit asks, etc!

As of now, I only have enough knowledge abt the animals listed above to determine their genetics, but I hope to expand my range (post will be updated when I do)!

Animals I’m researching: mice, rats, Guinea pigs, ball pythons, parakeets, cows, and more!

If you have a burning question abt these or any other animal, I’ll look into it!

I’ll start with my dog, Makaya!

My terminology is likely nonstandard (sorry!) but hopefully makes sense! A “—” will be present for an allele that cannot be determined (ex. A/—). Only the most relevant genes will be written. For example, if no Merle is present, I won’t write any Merle alleles.

She’s black based, tan pointed with a mask and minimal white!
