Prince Rin x Fem!Reader royal au pt. 2
Enemies to Lovers jump scare muahaha
Y/n POV:
She hated him since she was 6. The quiet kind of hate— the refined, ladylike kind you’d expect from the daughter of a duke. The kind that’s barely visible under silk gloves and polite curtsies, the kind that sharpens like glass in your throat every time someone dared even mention his name with hers.
Prince Itoshi always walked and acted like the world owed him something.
Shoulders straightened in a princely manner, head high, and eyes icier than the freezing tundra. His calculating gaze constantly searching the room for something worth his time. More often than not, it would be Y/n. When she was younger, all he ever did was pick on children of lesser status than him. He’d show off the Grand Palace of the Itoshi’s, dragging her around because after all, how could she say no to the king’s son? Then he’d proceed to mock every other child on the court by bragging about possessions as if they were worth far more than all his subjects and her, and he’d do it with that irritatingly nonchalant and smug attitude— when it came to Prince Rin, Y/n thinks she’d marry anyone else in the royal courtroom.
Although, one thing she could not deny— was that both the Itoshi Princes were handsome. Prince Sae often captured the attention of many high ranking women, which she knew frustrated Rin. Anything Sae outdid him frustrated him, even if it was the most menial thing known to mankind. Both of their cold but disciplined personas flocked women to them like magnets. Rin though never even uttered such a word kindly to the ladies. He’d slick back his deep turquoise hair, and repeat the same line every time in his low and steady voice. His voice had no right being that nice— he’d mastered the art of speaking calmly to you as he set you on fire.
He’d say’ “I apologize, but I have other matters to answer to. Betrothal is not a priority to me, anymore.”
Or something of the sort. The worst part was those laced-brained pigeons would nod and get lost in his gorgeous blue eyes people would write poems about. Pale and crystalline, they were beautiful, sure. But beauty meant jack when it came wrapped in silence and scorn.
Thinking about Rin always reminded her of the unfairness and injustice of this world. So she breathed in and out, calming herself down as she unclipped the heavy jewelry she’d worn for the evening ball, wiping off the heavy makeup caked to her face which frequently felt suffocating at times.
Maybe a quick outing out to the town would soothe her rage?
