Refusing to get interviewed by anyone but you

— Rin Itoshi
One thing about Rin was that he hated being asked stupid, unnecessary, time-consuming questions by lukewarm interviewers whom he viewed as NPCs anyway. You, on the other hand, were his only exception.
He wasn’t sure if it was because of your jaw-dropping looks or because you actually asked him decent questions, but he never minded being interviewed by you.
“That goal looked almost identical to one you scored last month. Did you plan it beforehand?”
Someone actually paid attention to his gameplay? Not to mention the way your eyes sparkled whenever you talked about his skills.
“You had a clear shot, but you passed instead. Why?”
“It was just the better option.” Rin tried to act nonchalant, though his voice came out slightly higher than usual.
“You mean you actually trust your teammates?” you chuckled. It was insanely cute.
“Don’t put words in my mouth.”
But he could already feel his face getting hotter.
It was nothing like the cold shoulder he was giving the interviewer in front of him at that moment.
Rin was heading towards the locker room after the match, when he got stopped by an unfamiliar face. Everyone knew that he would refuse to get interviewed by anyone but you, so saying he was confused when she walked up to him, basically shoving the mic into his face, was an understatement.
”Itoshi Rin! How do you feel after scoring the final—”
He looked around, wondered where the hell you are, and if she had got the right person. You, clearly being nowhere to be found, made him scoff— walking away before she could finish asking.
What kind of stupid question was that, asking how he felt winning a match? You would know that as long as he hadn’t defeated his brother, Sae, he wouldn’t be satisfied.
— Sae Itoshi
“Sae, congratulations on the win!”, the interviewer said nervously. Despite insisting on interviewing him when you were sick, his emotionless expression gave her an uneasy feeling.
”Where’s y/n?”, he asked, tilling his head slightly.
”Y/n? Ah, she took the day off.”
”I see.” The slight disappointment on his face was impossible to miss.
To clear the awkwardness, she chuckled, “What, you don’t wanna get interviewed by me?”
”Well, it’s part of my job.”
Her smile faded instantly into a straight line. “So, ahah .. how do you feel about today’s victory?”
”Fine.”
Good lord, he was even less cooperative than usual.
”Could you elaborate?”
”It was ok. The match, I mean.”
After the very short interview, a teammate of his came up to him, holding back his laughter. “You seemed distant today.”
”I’m not.”, sae basically ignored him. He truly did not see anything off about his answers.
”You’ve given one-word answers to every question.”, his teammate laughed while he tried to keep up with his pace.
”Well, her questions weren’t very interesting either, were they?”
The next time you interviewed him, he sure didn’t forget to remind you to drink water every day.
— Ryusei Shidou
“Ehh?” he interrupted, leaning closer to stare at the interviewer’s face. Shidou didn’t pay much attention to people outside the field, but he was certain it wasn’t your face he was looking at.
You were the only one that didn’t get weirded out by his “weird” personality. If anything, you embraced it.
“So, Shidou, what’s it like being called the devil of blue lock?”
“Well, to be honest, it makes me even harder than I already am just by staring at your face!”, he answered honestly. It was true, you were unarguably beautiful.
”Wow, I’ll take that as a compliment. So, would you say you get harder at the thought of scoring a goal, or the thrill of winning the whole game?”
”Hah, I like you!”
You smiled warmly. It made him feel weird.
That was the first time you interviewed him, and also the day he subconsciously would start to look forward to get interviewed by you.
So imagine his face when he got stuck with some random lady instead.
”Yo.”, Shidou asked, titling his head, also not trying to hide his disgusted expression.
” 3 .. 2 .. 1 .. Aaand we’re here today live with the Ryusei Shidou! Tell us, how do you feel after winning the match?”, she asked, smiling widely. It was totally uncanny.
He frowned while he looked her up and down. Her whole demeanour just felt so .. fake?
”Hey, plastic face, where’s my interviewer?”
”.. Shidou, we’re live.”, she tried to smile it off, whispering.
He yawned, his hands behind his head, and simply walked off with zero shame. “Interview me again when y/n’s here. I’d rather jack off in the bathroom than look at your face.”
— Michael Kaiser
Yeah, he didn’t even acknowledge her, let alone look her way. He was too busy scanning the field, looking for you.
“Hey, Kaiser, wait!”
”Ah, there you are, Maus! I was looking for y—“, his face hardened again upon seeing a face that wasn’t yours. “Und wer bist du?”
”Ah.. what?”, she laughed nervously, confused.
”I asked who you are. You’re cute and all, but I’d rather see y/n right now.”.
”.. y/n?”
“You mean you don’t know y/n?”, he asked, baffled. “That must be a mistake. Anyone that has interacted with me is known. I make them. Maybe you’re just bad at your job, süße. Do you even know that I play soccer?”, kaiser scoffed, clearly offended.
“What! Of .. Of course I know you! You’re Michael kaiser, the emperor!”
It was funny how nervous she got.
His face lightened up instantly. You could almost see the exact moment his ego got even bigger.
“Of course, silly me. Who doesn’t know me? Alright, süße, make it fast. What do you want? An autograph?”, he leaned down, tilting his head, making the interviewer blush.
“I was going to ask you a few questions about today’s game! It won’t take long, I promise!”, she sighed out of relief, thinking things couldn’t get more awkward.
He stood still for a moment, before his infamous smirk appeared again. ”Ah, I see. Hate to burst your bubble, but only y/n does that.”
”Y/n took the day off!”, she blurted out, getting impatient.
What was so damn special about you anyway? Also, refusing to get interviewed by anyone but you? God, he’s so cocky!
At least that’s what she was thinking. No one dares to second guess Michael Kaiser.
”Huh, she can do that? Without asking me first?”, kaiser crossed his arms, calculating. His mind was somewhere else completely.
”Well, since she’s not—”
”Whatever. I guess I’ll let it slide though.”, kaiser muttered before walking away, cracking his knuckles. He didn’t look back at the interviewer, who was now yelling something, face bright red.
— Vivian Hugo
Vivian Hugo wasn’t exactly the talkative type, and he wasn’t particularly enthusiastic about interviews either. Of course, he never flat out refused anyone, but he wasn’t necessary excited to answer all these questions either. Until you came, that is.
When Vivian first met you, he wasn’t really intrigued either. He expected questions about his physique, his salary, his private life.
No. You actually asked about his skills, your fascination with his gameplay obvious in your sparkling eyes. That was the day he started letting his guard down just a little.
“Hugo, congratulations on today’s victory. How do you feel?”, a new interviewer asked.
Vivian was not necessarily okay about this, but decided to give her a chance. Maybe she’d be like you? No, the thought of someone replacing you made his stomach stir.
“Fine.”, he mumbled silently, scratching the back of his neck, his eyes already wandering off to where the exit was.
“You’re so tall and muscular! You must be popular with the ladies?”
He kept quiet, looking down at her with that famous stone cold expression of his.
Throughout the whole interview, it became painfully obvious to everyone watching that Hugo didn’t exactly enjoy talking.
Fans, however, didn’t waste a second comparing his interview with you to the one they’d just watched.
This has been in my drafts for way too long
