Alright, so, I’ve noticed something that might just be a me thing, but I’m going to spout it out anyway!
Okay, so when ever I’ve compared Dog Man and Petey to other characters in media (Elphaba and Gilnda from Wicked, Rose and Jack from Titanic, Rumi and Jinu from K-Pop Demon Hunters, etc.) I’ve always felt like you can put them in either role.
Like sure, there may be one that fits one role better than the other, but I can still be swayed either way. Let’s use a different example than what I’ve listed: Rapunzel and Flynn Ridder from Tangled.
I can see/have seen people put Dog Man and Petey in both the roles of Rapunzel and Flynn. And it makes sense why that’s the case. Both Dog Man and Petey have similarities to these characters and no matter what role you put them in, it can still make sense.
And I think that’s something that isn’t plausible with a lot of characters/ships. This further proves how unique Dog Man and Petey are as characters and as a ship. Because there is always a sense of balance between them. And that’s what I absolutely love about them.
