Ive lost this war [Nevada Drabble| inspired by a skype RP]
Nevada hadnt always been fond of the gods. He knew that they were in part responsible for Olivia Benson and his older brother Rafael rescuing him from the hell of living in his mother's 'care' and for that he'd always been thankful. That is, until one of the gods had blinded his son in a fit of rage- and all because he'd killed one of the god's mates. That'd been the final straw for Nevada and he'd begun a war against the forces of the gods. He believed they couldnt be allowed to continue to think they could walk over the human race any more. Now he stood on an open stretch of fields with the forces that supported him behind him. The gods stood facing him and he focused his green flecked black hues on the god that had blinded his son. He smirked at his look of regret and licked his lips lightly. He was glad the bastard regretted blinding Tango but that didnt mean he was about to stop this war. Tango's sight would never be restored. Nevada frowned though when Tango pushed his way out to stand between the two forces, panting. Tango made an attempt to stop the battle but neither side paid it much mind. Nevada wanted blood for the wrongs the gods had committed and he was sure the gods wanted blood for the temples that had been practically ruined as well as the mates that'd been caught- some of which had been killed. If he was honest Nevada had never meant for any other god's mate to be killed but it'd happened and there was nothing he could do about that now. It was the gods that made the first move. Nevada recognised Demri and watched him charge his son and snarled, shifting and racing out to intercept the god. He didnt manage to get to them before Demri crashed into Tango but he did reach them before the god could hurt his son and sank his fangs deep into the gods flank. He grinned hearing the god yelp and felt him snapping at him but neither nevada nor Demri noticed a russet and cream pelted fox dart in to guide Tango out of danger. All around them chaos was occuring. The gods had the advantage due to the differences in strength and the forces Nevada had managed to rally seemed to be realising that the fight was a lost cause and they started to retreat. Nevada noticed this and tensed a little. He knew in his soul the fight was lost but some stronger part of him couldnt give up. Looking around Nevada spotted Saverus stood alone, panting and he grinned before shoving Demri away from him and making a bolt towards the lone god. He was almost there when another force unexpectedly rammed into his chest and he yelped skittering sideways but the agony that followed that action drew a loud pained howl from him. The sensation of a horn embedded in his chest, piercing his heart wa unlike any other pain he'd felt. He couldnt quite think of the words to describe the feeling until the horn was yanked free. Nevada staggered and tried to draw a breath but found he couldnt as blood dribbled freely from his jaws. Giving a choked whine Nevada fell and closed his eyes. He didnt see the young man stare down at him, eyes wide with shock and worry. He only heard a voice shout for Saverus and flinched when hands touched the wound which drew an agonised yelp from him. He was surprised when the owner of the hands spoke and he found it was Saverus. "Nevada! fuck.... nev look at me..." Nevada whined in complaint. He didnt want to do anything. His chest hurt and his throat felt clogged up but he didnt dare try to cough up whatever was blocking his throat. He knew that doing so would hurt worse than anything. "Nevada dont make me glue your damn eyes open, look at me!" That got a small snort of mild amusement from Nevada and he slowly opened his eyes to look up at Saverus. He wasnt sure what he'd expected but the look of worry that could be found in the elder beings bright green hues was not what he'd expected. "s...saverus....." "dont...... save your strength.." Nevada snorted a little at that though he winced as pain flared in his chest. "n..no.. p...point....." He closed his eyes for a moment, trying to heave a breath in before he opened his eyes again "i aint..... pulling through this...." "what?..... no... you will... " Saverus frowned and shook his head "tango.... he needs you..." "No.... he.. he doesnt need me..... just..... t...tell him.... i love him..." Saverus tensed a little at that. He knew that Nevada was right. Given the fact that Xavier's horn had more than likely pierced Nevada's heart though that'd been purely an accident. Xavier had only meant to ram Nevada and give Saverus time to get out of the way. He hadnt expected Nevada to skitter into the path of his more lethal horns and end up impaled. The god didnt notice Tango approaching until he heard him give a low keen. "dad?....." The young shifter got no response from his father and Saverus tensed a little looking at Nevada's incredibly still body. Saverus shifted a little closer and, hesitantly, reached to check for a pulse. He closed his eyes and bowed his head a little when he couldnt find one. He raised his head after a moment and looked at Tango sadly, regret and guilt filling him. This was his fault.... He'd stolen Tango's sight and sparked a hatred within the tiger shifter's father that'd kickstarted a war that'd now claimed his life... "Im sorry......"
