Tangse is the daughter of a powerful family known for powerful, but risky celestial magic. They send out their consciousness to specific stars to draw upon their energy, but if their miscalculate the position of the stars, they may lose their soul to the heavens. She carries an astrolabe on her hip, to help her calculate precise angles.
She is beheaded by an assassin while astral projecting, leaving her a ghost without a body. Nonetheless, she considers death only a minor setback, befriending her assassin and working to achieve her goals.
