Current pet peeve. People who get huge 100+ gallon tanks and overstock them. Like WHY. You could comfortably house so many fish... why CRAM so many animals in there?
Arguably the worst part is they overfilter them and do huge frequent water changes. Meaning they maintain clean water, so the fish grow and don't dont suffer from many diseases but... that just prolongs the SUFFERING of being crammed into a tank like that.
Examples.
That's not to say it's impossible to keep large fish, even LOTS of large fish. We do it all the time with koi. If the climate allows, these fish can be kept in ponds just like goldfish and koi. Like this.
Huge fish, but spacious. Sparse decor is not a problem, these fish typically live in areas with little plant life.
It's just animal abuse, plain and simple.
