Birthday Week
So, it's midnight here in England and that means it's Monday; the start of the week.
This week is my birthday, so to follow the past two years tradition: I shall be celebrating all week with a new activity every day. Here's my plan:
Monday - Night of the 80s
To kick things off is the traditional Blues Brothers party tomorrow. Friends will come to my house and we'll get drunk and watch the movie (Since it's one of the best films ever). We will then suit up and head to our local 80s bar to party like it's 1984 :D In suits. Everything in life is better if you do it whilst wearing a suit.
Tuesday - Xbox Reveal
Since I'm a game journalist, stuff like this is important to me. Some of my geekier friends will be coming round to my house to watch the big reveal and we'll then follow it up by playing some classic Xbox and Xbox 360 titles.
Wednesday - Family Ties
I have a strained relationship with my Mother, but a great relationship with my Nan and siblings (Whom I live with). Despite the issues with my Mother, I've invited her around to the house so she can join me, my Nan, my brother, and myself for a big family meal.
Thursday - Nobody likes you when you're 23
So my birthday is on Thursday and I officially turn 23. To celebrate, I'm heading down to London so I can go and watch the Legend of Zelda: Symphony of the Goddesses orchestra play their one and only UK show. It was good fortune that it landed on my actual birthday as the Legend of Zelda games mean a lot to me.
Friday - Comic-con
Since I'm in London anyway, I'll be going to London MCM Expo which is our Comic-con. I'm a giant geek. I'm always happy when I'm at Comic-con.
Saturday - TankCat
This one is hard to explain, but it involves a -lot- of boozing.
Sunday - Dungeons, Dragons, and a whole lot of cake
When I get home from London I'll be meeting up with my regular roleplay group for a special birthday Dungeons & Dragons session, where I get to be a player rather than the DM for once. I'm also going to eat a lot of cake, because I like cake.
I'm really looking forward to all of this.
I'll admit that it bothers me that I'm single for my birthday, but I'm not going to let that get me down. Instead I'm going to celebrate extra hard and enjoy the company of my closest friends.
I know that none of you will be able to join me in the festivities, but I wish that any of you could join me. The followers I have on Tumblr are some of the nicest and most wonderful people I've ever met. The best I can do is take photos D:
