I'm not exactly new with Hellenistic polytheism, do I NEED to have a candle for the gods? I can't have them (i have their altars on wooden shelves, and with cloth covering them) is it just an offering, or another form of divination?

i have plenty of ways of divination that I can use (dice, tarot cards, pendelum, bones) do I need the candle for divination even if I have all of those?
