Tankin some tenks
Tank project -story thumbnails
The really complex project is here and I pushed myself to do some proper concepts for it. This images will be the shots in my first short film ever made. I want to do it with everything what film should have. So the proper music, dialogues catching story and atmosphere.
I don’t want to share everything what I am working on because it will reveal everything and would not be fun to watch. However, some progress renders, sneak peaks and scene showcases are coming!
New tank isn’t done yet, take a P38t study
Tank project was a blast.
If this looks like filler, you might be right.
Some tiny tank studies.
Topoko DP2 ´´Hunting Tower´´
When the Crown war, or King’s conflict, officially erupted after the spectacular Port Rewanjad incident, the plentiful legions of Arch-King Zwaradjud the Boastful, leader of Motozambadja, rolled into combat. With them, they brought the official armored proof that the tank was now officially recognized as a new weapon of war. Supporting the efforts of the traditionally Camel-mounted Jazzanish warriors and the peasant legionnaires was the first of many designs of tanks that would see action in the conflict. The Topoko DP2’s basic design was based on the popular hunting howdah’s that were frequently mounted on Rhinolefant’s. The idea was to create a small and fast support vehicle that could provide accurate and versatile long range firepower against a multitude of targets. The DP2, nicknamed Hunting Tower, was armed with a variety of weapons that allowed it to engage multiple treats. Its primary weapon was a small 60 mm cannon that could be used to engage hard-points and enemy vehicles. On top of the chassis was a small turret that housed a Kat.Ara .3 caliber machine gun, which it used to mow down massed infantry charges. But the Topoko’s most remarkable feature was the howdah on top of the vehicle. Basing from Motozambadjanese hunting traditions, a team of at least 5 specialist snipers would ride each DP2 into battle. Topoko riders were chosen for their expert marksmanship, and their presence made assaulting the vehicle at close range extremely difficult.
Its narrow tracks often led to it getting bogged down in the loose sands and mud of its most trodden battlefield environments. This was addressed in the PD3, which was basically the same tank only with wider tracks. Other problems in its design were the small turn radius of the machine gun turret, limited by the support studs of the howdah, and the tanks vulnerability to low bridges, especially if the driver was not paying attention. Despite these, the tanks performance was quite remarkable.
If its existence would have been kept a secret, its impact on the opening stages of the Crown war could have been absolutely significant. However, by the time the conflict was about to erupt, Motozambadja’s armory had been studied by the keen eyes of enemy spies. And it would take only a few days of combat for the Motozambadjanese army to learn that they were not the only one who had been adding tanks to their arsenal.
