The r.bbit face and pelt swatches I got from the find the other day. The rest of her is in a bucket out back. Ill have to change out the water next week. All need to be smoked still so Im gunna see if I can find anything else that needs to be smoked before I venture into trying that

I was gifted this by a relative, but alas, my tote with hides in it is full.  Any vulture culture friends in the US, could you make use of it?  Pretty sure it’s deer, unsure of exact species.  It’s split up about 2/3 of the back, as you can kind of see.

How did they do that??

I'm bracing my niece's new fox tail so she can't break it/rip the leather and the last 6 inches or so weren't opened. How the hell did this tanner remove all the tiny bones and fleshy bits without opening the skin??? It definitely wasn't just super matted. The skin was never cut. I was able to open it up by hand (the leather is still soft and ripped apart as I gently pulled on the fur), and there weren't any stray bits of bone in there. How the tanner pulled that off, I have no idea.

Regardless, it's now open from base to tip and ready to be braced. No matter how brittle the leather gets over time, this tail will remain in one piece. It can be pulled, closed in a car door...she can squat down, accidentally step on the tip of the tail, and stand up, and it still won't break.

Brace your tails, furries.
