Who I am as a person is molded by every comnversation, encounter, experince i've had. and it makes me who i am at this moment. and its so easy to assume the worst without hearing their sides of things. another person.character/ actor i absolutley love is cody christain. most people know him from teen wolf(theo raken) and all american(asher adams).
I've seen a little bit of TW but not the seasons with him. BUT I love All American and his character on it!! He is one of the reaons I contiued that show lol.
His character and Robby are very similar!! they both come from alcholic families where one parent has left in this case Asher's mom and in Robby's case his dad. And we know Robby's mom is an alchohlic and Asher's dad is and so is Asher, he uses drugs just like how Robby did in s1.
Even though Asher started out rich and cocky the show starts when Ahser starts to losse everything to the point he is broke like how robby is. And just emotinally suffering with football, school, relationships etc. We see Robby struggle with that but karate instead of football.
I just have so much empthay, sympathy and compassion for charaters like them because they are real. it also makes the character more intrestin g when they have to fight for everysingle thing. and sometimes that mihgt lead to trouble but they usually end up correcting thier wrongs.
ALSO Cody said this in an interview and I WAS LIKE I LOVEEE YOU!!:

WHY i think Shannon is definitely on the right path to becoming a better parent:
When she first sees Robby she apologizes and also conveys her feelings. she too has also been through a a lot. she then says she’s has to leave and Robby gets upset: saying “where too next? Cabo, etc.”
This did come out is a slightly “rude” tone but Robby has been through it before so he is justified for saying it. He is also conveying his emotions through countering his pain and it comes off like that. basically he has every right to be angry even if it doesn’t always get him in the right place...
But unlike Johnny. Shannon understand and she doesn’t get mad or star blaming him!! She understands where Robby is coming from and she knows that she hasn’t been the best parent.
JUST LOOK at how Robby’s facial expressions change!!! He does from “🙄😠” to “🥺🙂”
If you don’t remember the scene. Shannon is telling him she’s going to rehab for herself AND for Robby. And Robby is basically saying: “Oh wow, someone actually gives a sh*t about me and wants to change for me!!” like he is literally so happy 😭
I’m not praising her or anything she was still a pretty bad mom. But she gave one of the best apologizes I’ve ever heard on the show!! And especially towards Robby!! She acknowledges everything she’s done wrong and told that that to Robby. She didn’t get mad or blame him. She also says she blames herself for his and Johnny relationship and reconfirms with him that his dad does care about him and suggests that he should stay with him. Robby clearly cares, loves and in this moment trusted her and why when after the party he goes to Johnny’s house.
and on the flip side WHERE AS JOHNNY DOES THE COMPLETE OPPOSITE:
He is standing there ARGUING with his son! after finally coming back because the school kept calling him😐 and that’s the only reason he was there. To say “hey don’t be like me. get ur life together. stop being a jerk.” and im like johnny lawernce’s is seriously not saying that. and saying “don’t be like me” well he is u and if I were there u could’ve taught him to not be the worst of you, but the good of you!!
YOU CAN LITERALLY SEE ROBBY KEENE IS HURTING:
just like his father he counters pain with anger. but robby is seriously hurting inside!! ITS ALL IN THE FACIAL EXPRESSIONS! I wished they went to family therapy would’ve helped so much.
and Johnny is clearly so blind or just can’t process it . Since u can see him searching for something in there but the only way he’ll get it out if he actually stays with him and fights through that anger robby has and reach his roots pure, which won’t be easy but if he cared:
AND NOPE!.... he just walks away AGAIN
