Leeches

my dreams have gotten grim

i am just barely getting by

and with my worthless life

i fantasize about taking the world

into my own hands

and cradling it gently

peeling the leeches off

and stopping the blood

wrapping the world

in bandages

then i dream about killing the leeches

i dream about having knives

and running the leeches through

in my dreams

i buy a gun

and travel 10 hrs 34 mins

from my parents home

to shoot leeches

and in these dreams

im a crack shot

so it's not very hard

like leeches in a barrel

it doesnt make me feel better

i wake up in a cold sweat

with vomit in my mouth

from seeing leeches splattered

across my eyelids

their warm blood

running down my face

or is that just tears?

but it's all i want

all i think about

day in

day out
